We missed the action before the river betting between Ben Martin and Daniel Lim with around 10,000 already in the middle and a board of K♠ 9♣ 8♦ A♠ J♥. Lim checked to Martin who bet 7,500. This caused Lim to review the previous action and after assessing the situation, he called. Martin won the hand with his A♥ K♥ top two pairs as Lim mucked.
After winning a nice pot earlier, Jamie Avila took a beating to his stack in a hand against Kenji Kurashina. It was one of those preflop raise wars that saw both players not giving in and going all in. Kurashina had A♦ A♣ and Avila had K♣ K♠. The board ran blanks and Kurashina happily doubled up while Avila fell to around half the starting stack.
Facing a board of 2♣ 7♦ Q♠ Q♦ 4♣ and a pot of 8k in the middle, Jessie Leonarez checked to Kenneth Khoo who laid out a 5000 bet. This was enough to get Leonarez to fold and Khoo won the pot. Khoo now has over 40k chips.
Continuing to cause some trouble at his table, Gerald Casey bet 3000 and was up against a player who had that few chips left in his arsenal. The bet was called and Casey revealed his 7♣ 7♠ full house on a board of 8♥ 8♠ 7♦ 2♣. His opponent had K♣ K♠. The river of 3♥ kept Casey on top and he eliminated another player.
Jamie Avila scooped up a hefty pot in a hand we caught at the river betting stage. The board was 8♦ 10♣ 7♣ 5♥ 2♣, Avila bet 7100 and he was called by one player but tanked another who eventually folded. Avila opened up K♣ 9♣ for a winning flush.
One of the toughest women in the field, Regie Ann Delos Reyes, tried to bluff her way to win the pot against Guofu Chen with a board showing 10♠ 7♣ 3♥ 6♥ 2♣. Delos Reyes bet 4500 into a 6000 pot and Chen would match it. Chen won the hand with his 10♣ 8♣ top pair against Delos Reyes’s Q♥ J♣ bluff.
Lim Yo Hwan and Pan Zhan Kun were all in on a completed board of K♦ 3♠ 6♥ 3♥ 8♦. Kun had 6♣ 6♠ for a full house but Hwan had 3♣ 3♦ for quads! Wild! Hwan now has around 50k chips.
On a board of 9♠ 5♥ 6♥, Jessie Leonarez faced off against Edilberto Gopez and took the initiative to bet 700. Gopez wanted it to cost more so he raised to 1700. Leonarez had the same idea and so he three-bet to 3700. Gopez decided to end the raise war and called. At the turn of 3♣, Leonarez wasted no time betting and shoved his 14,500 in the middle. Gopez tanked but felt he was ahead and called. Leonarez showed 8♣ for a straight against Gopez’s 7♦ 7♣ pair. The river blanked, 2♥, and Leonarez doubled up to 38k while Gopez fell to 32k.
Satellite winner Antonio Angeles raked in a 6k pot with his pocket queens against Daniel Lim’s ace-queen. The board was 6♦ 7♥ J♥ 2♣ 7♣.
