Naruyasu Ota eliminated in 9th place – P230,000

Naruyasu Ota was the unfortunate bubble to the final table of 8. He fell at the hands of Kyungrok Kim just minutes ago. During the hand Andrew Gaw raised to 21k and both Kim and Ota called. The dealer felted K 3 Q and everyone checked. At the turn of A, Ota went all in and Kim called while Gaw begged off. Ota had A 10 for top pair and Kim had K Q for two pairs. The river of 8 was no help to Ota and he ended the day in 9th place. He collects P230,000 for his finish.


A good looking flush for Huerto, up to 450k

Joven Huerto earned himself a nice hefty pot in a hand that had him raising from the utg seat to 22k preflop. Jeremy Giam called and they watched the board land 4 3 2. Huerto led out for 25k and Giam called. The turn was 2, which had both players checking. The river of 8 had Huerto back to betting and laid out 50k. Giam called. Huerto had A J for a good looking flush. He is now up to around 450k.

 


Kunal Patni out in 10th place – P197,000

Kunal Patni lost a pot to Ben Martin and then shortly after, found himself getting up to leave after losing the rest of his chips to Jeremy Giam. During the hand, Patni raised to 22k and Giam called. The board ran K 3 10, and Patni slid out 24k. Giam made it 70k, and Patni shoved for an extra 100k for Giam to call. Without a thought, Giam snap-called and it was a showdown. Giam had K 10 top two pairs and Patni had Q 9 gut shot draw. The turn of Q improved Patni’s hand, but with the river of 5, he was still behind. Patni finished in 9th place and earned P197,000.


Giam keeps the momentum

Jeremy Giam is making a comeback. He called Kyungrok Kim’s raise of 22k and they went to see the flop land K K 6. Giam checked, Kim continued and be 23k. Giam called. The turn of 3 kept both players hanging back to a check. On the river of 2, Giam led out for 50k and Kim called. Gaim had K 10 for trips. Kim mucked.


Big-stacked Gaw loses a little to Chen

Guofu Chen has chipped up a little in this hand. He raised to 20k and was called by the button player, big-stacked Andrew Gaw. At the flop of Q A 9, both players checked. At the turn of 8, Chen led out for 30k and Gaw called it. On the river of J, Chen continued and sent out 55k. This time Gaw opted to fold.


Big double up for Giam

At the turn of 8 and river of 7, both players opted to chill back and check. Kim had 6 4 for bottom pair and Martin had the same A 6 with a higher kicker for the pot.


Sayo claims two pots

We are at the final 10 players, one table, playing down to 8 before we end regulation play. John Sayo has just picked up two hands. In the first one, he raised to 20k preflop and was called by two players, Ben Martin and Joven Huerto. At the flop of 6 10, Sayo bet 40k and claimed the pot after the folds. Next hand, Sayo raised to 20k again, and was called by Lee Jongyeol. The board ran A 3 4. Both players checked. At the turn of Q and river of 6, they continued to check. Sayo won with his pocket tens against Jongyeol’s pocket sevens.
