Day 2 is over and 22 players survived the day. Leading in chips is Andrew Gaw with 410,500. Jeremy Giam is next with 339,500, and in third is Guofu Chen with 296,500. Congratulations to the survivors!


Big call equals big pot for Chen

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

A big pot won by Guofu Chen just before the end of tournament play. With a board of 8 3 10 7 and a pot of 100k to battle over, Kota Nakano went all in and after tanking for some time, Chen called for his tournament life. Nakano had K Q bluff and Chen had 8 9 pair and a straight draw. The river of 3 kept Chen ahead and he claimed a very big pot of over 300k.


Patni eliminates Lim

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Daniel Lim was eliminated by Kunal Patni in a hand that began with a raise by Guofu Chen to 6k. Lim went all in for 60k, followed by Patni with a 90k shove. At the showdown, Lim had ace-seven and Patni had pocket queens. Lim busted when the board failed to improve his hand.


Rivera earns two good pots

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Marc Rivera won a couple of pots against Jeremy Giam. In the first hand, it was battle of the blinds. Giam’s raise to 7k and Rivera called from the big blind. The flop landed K 9 6, Giam was first and he bet 9k. Rivera called. At the turn of 10, Giam checked to Rivera who bet 18k and took the pot with Giam folding.

On another hand, Lim Yo Hwan raised to 7k, Giam called, then Rivera raised to make it 28k. That was it, another pot for Rivera.


Saito wins a pot against Gaw

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Jun Saito is in the action and found a hand to earn some chips. On a completed board of K 7 J 4 7, Saito bet 15k into a 60k pot leaving himself 17k behind. Gaw called. Saito had J J for a set and Gaw mucked.


Kang earns a nice pot with a straight

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

With action folding all the way to the button, William Kang raised to 6.5k and Jae Chul Chang on the small blind called. At the flop of 2 9 4, both players opted to check. On the turn of 5, Chang checked to Kang who bet 7.5k. Chang check-raised to make it 15k. Kang called. On the river of 3, Chang led again, this time for 12k. Kang called. Kang won the hand with 3 6 straight.


Chua and Patni shove

Ying Lim Chua was all in preflop and Kunal Patni did the same. Chua had A 9 and Patni had A K. The board ran 6 10 K 8 K and Patni happily doubled up.


Casey shoves to the big stack

Gerald Casey called a raise by big stack Jeremy Giam and both went to see a flop land J 7 8. Acting first, Casey shoved with 68k into a pot of around 20k. Giam asked for a count then folded.


Kim with a hefty check-raise

Kyungrok Kim won himself a nice pot which he kicked off with a raise to 7k. Guofu Chen and Andrew Gaw called and the dealer spread Q 2 K on the felt. Gaw and Kim checked to Chen who bet 10k. Gaw called and Kim check-raised to 35k. This was big enough to win the pot.
