Ferenc Riech opened with 500 pre-flop to which Jason Powers and Sam Razavi called.
All three checked the flop K♥ Q♣ 6♠ and on the turn J♣ it Riech led out for 925… Powers and Razavi tanked a bit before throwing away their hand.
From mid-position, John King opened with 400 and saw both blinds including Jung Hwan Ki (big blind) make the call. The flop 8♠ 8♣ 8♦ was checked by both the SB and BB and the mid-position player bet 775. The small blind got out of the way but not Ki who made it 2,800… Enough to force the fold from the original aggressor.
On a flop of 10♥ J♣ 7♦, a mid-position player check-called Eemil Tuominen’s bet of 2,000. The MP player did so again on the turn 2♥ for 3,100 and the river A♦ for 6,150 and was shown the bad news when Tuominent tabled 8♥ 9♥ for the straight.
Three-time APT Player of the Year Sam Razavi is starting to heat up.
Ferenc Riech opened with 475 pre-flop and saw Razavi call from the hi-jack to bring the flop Q♣ 7♦ 6♣. Razavi check-called Riech’s 1,100 bet and again check-called the turn K♦ for 2,000.
Both checked the river 3♥ and Razavi showed 7♣ 6♦ for a small two-pair. Riech muckedand his stack takes a little hit.
With a pot of roughly 5,000 and the board reading 2♦ J♣ 8♣ 4♣ A♥, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa check-called Roger Spets’ 3,000 bet but not after spending some time in the tank. Spets showed the top Japanese player A♣ J♠ for two pair and Tetsuya mucked.
On a flop of J♦ 9♦ A♣, Linh Tran, who is fresh off making money in the Head Hunter side event, opened for 500 and saw Kim flat call. The mid-position player wanted more though; making it 2,000 for the re-raise. No problem says Tran who went all-in to force the fold from both Kim and the re-raiser.
After a series of raise and re-raises pre-flop we saw Jeonghan Lee and Feng Zhao go at it with all of their chips in the middle.

The flop 5♦ Q♥ A♠ was the worst kind for our defending APT Philippines main event champion although the turn 10♦ gave him a bit of hope for the bad beat. No kings on the river 3♣ however and Zhao drops to the danger zone with just around 4,000 to work with in Day 1A.
With three limpers behind him, Judic Kim from the small blind wanted the pot grow pre-flop adding 600 more. Only one limper, from mid-position, made the call.

Kim and his opponent checked to bring the turn Q♠ where Kim bet 750 and was called. The river A♠ was checked by both players.
Kim tabled 10♥ 10♠ for two pairs and it was good enough as the MP player mucked his hand.
