Good night and see you tomorrow at 1:00 PM!
After a series of raises and re-raises pre-flop (we counted up to a seven-bet) both Davor Derek and an opponent were all-in with a huge pot.
Derek: A♦ K♥
At-Risk Player: A♠ Q♣
The at-risk player needed a miracle to survive; but rather was sent to the grave on the flop 4♠ K♦ K♠. Insignificant turn 9♠ and an insulting Q♦ river sent another player to the exits and Derek to over 80,000.
A few hands after busting out Edwin Marzan, Jay Tolon is at it again this time eliminating Manuel Blaschke, this APT stop’s High Rollers champion.
A raise, a re-raise and an all-in (and of course, the call) set us up with a giant showdown:
Tolon: A♥ K♥
Blaschke: K♠ K♣
Blaschke was ahead but Tolon had his outs… And it came right on the flop 4♠ J♥ A♦! No king on the turn but rather another A♦ and the river 5♦ sends our high-stakes champion home.
Tolon has now over 80,000.
Edwin Marzan bet 3,750 and saw Jay Tolon shove. Marzan called.
Marzan: K♠ 10♥
Tolon: A♣ K♦
Marzan was way behind and that never changed after the dealer boarded K♣ Q♠ 2♦ K♥ 9♣. Marzan is out of the Main Event and Tolon has now around 40,000.
One of the late entries for Day 1C, Andrew Gaw has now over 32,000 after winning against Sam Nee.
On a board of 9♣ 4♦ 7♣ 7♠ 6♠ and a 14,000 pot, Gaw bet 5,600 and saw Nee call.
Gaw shows Nee that indeed he had one of the sevens with 7♦ 10♣.
Pre-flop, Jim Bonanno opened to 1,000 and got a re-raise from Manuel Blaschke to 2,700. The cut-off player wanted more and three-bet to 11,500. Bonanno shoved and was called.
Bonanno: A♠ K♠
CO Player: Q♦ Q♥
Bonanno had overcards and it came right on the flop 6♥ 5♠ K♦ and the turn A♦ just added to the misery of the at-risk player. River 6♠ formalized his exit from the Main Event and officially put Bonanno past the 70,000 chip-mark.
Manuel Blaschke opened to 900 pre-flop and had 2 callers including Lee Da Nye, who lost to Blaschke in an earlier hand.
All players checked the flop 8♥ 9♠ Q♠ and on the turn K♠ Lee Da Nye fired first with 2,000 that force the fold from her opponents. Still short-stacked with less than 10,000 but still alive in this Main Event.
On the board of 4♠ J♠ 7♥ 2♦ K♥, Ishihara Kodai caught one trying to steal a nice pot with a shove.
Amit Jain sent his final 8,000 to the middle and after a bit of tanking, Kodai called with A♥ 7♥. It was the right call as Jain only had A♠ Q♣ and is now out of the tournament.
From the hi-jack, Matt Russell (from Houston, Texas) opened for 900 pre-flop and saw the cut-off re-raise to 2,700. Russell called to bring the flop 3♣ K♣ J♥. Russell checked and CO player led out again to 3,000. Russell wanted more and raised to 7,500. The opponent called.
On the turn 2♠ Russell sends a message that he means business putting 13,500 in the middle. The opponent tanked. And tanked. And tanked. But eventually folded his hand.
Russell now has over 55,000 after the huge turn bet and huge win.
