Though it is not so common, we have seen several three-way showdowns today.

The board came A 10 9 5 2 and Huang scooped up the main and side pot while booting Bao in the process. Huang up to 230k.


Vinod Megalmani cracks Zheng Zhang Yuan’s aces

Level: 11 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

It was a painful departure for Zheng Zhang Yuan who had all his chips in while holding the nuts hole cards pocket aces. He was called by Vinod Megalmani with jack-ten suited spades. Unfortunately for Zheng, a few spades did make landfall and he was eliminated.


Cooler hand sends Yang Song’s stack down; Saul Oliver soars

Level: 11 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Big stacked Yang Song had his chip stacked way high making him the envy of the table. However, in one nasty cooler hand, Yang’s stack plummeted. The hand saw Saul Oliver with A A and Yang with K K. The board bricked. Yang falls to 125k, Oliver soared to 400k.


Alberto Morales rails lone female survivor

Level: 11 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Alberto Morales just sent out the last woman of the Main Event. Morales raised to 4500 preflop, Wang Fei Jiao moved all in with her short stack and was called. Morales had A 9 and Jiao with Q J. No gems came on the board and Morales won the pot while booting Jiao in the process.


Nishant Sharma with two quick pots

Level: 11 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Nishant Sharma is one of the most active players at his table. In this new round, we caught him in two hands and won both of them. On the first hand, he raised to 4500 and got one caller in Hyun Thae Wang. At the flop J 7 5, Sharma led for 4700 and Wang called. On the 7 turn, Sharma checked to Wang who chose to send out 6500. Sharma called. On the 3 river, action was the same with Sharma calling a 10k bet from Wang.

Wang had A Q that was no good against Sharma’s Q J two pair.

On the next hand, the board showed 3 A 10 9 4 and an 18k pot was already brewed. Sharma and Peng Fei Liu checked and Sharma won with Q 4 pair.

After two levels clocked, the APT Main Event went on a short 10-min break. Taking a glance at the stacks, it is definitely Peng Fei Liu on top with well over 400k.

 


Peng Fei Liu takes from Sharma, zooms to 420k

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

One  of the day’s entering chip leaders, Peng Fei Liu, has taken over the chip leader status after picking up a sizable pot against Nishant Sharma. The hand saw both players engage in a preflop raise war for a nicely brewed pile in the middle. At the flop 8 7 J, Sharma jumped out with a 25.5k bet and Peng called. On the 10 turn, Sharma slowed down and checked giving Peng the go-ahead to bet. And Peng did. He laid out a 60k bet and Sharma called. On the J river, Sharma sent the action to Peng who announced all in. Sharma folded.

Peng now at around 420k.


Zhang Xun rails Sangjun Lee; Weiyi Zhang cracks Chen Dai Ji’s aces

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

More players have been sent to the rail. We are now at 54 players. A couple of the recent casualties were Sangjun Lee and a player with pocket aces.

Sangjun Lee was railed by Zhang Xun’s pocket kings while one player with pocket aces had a much harder fall. Pocket aces was all in against Weiyi Zhang’s pocket sevens. The board spread J 7 5 4 4 for a full house to Zhang.


Saul Oliver hurts Michael Soyza again

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Earlier we reported that Saul Oliver won a sweet pot against Michael Soyza with a gorgeous quadruple aces. These two players went at it again and once more, Oliver got the better of Soyza.

On a completed board of Q Q 3 3 10 and a huge pot in the center, Oliver checked to Soyza who jammed all in. Oliver called.

Soyza opened up his 8 7 bluff while Oliver shipped in the double up with Q J full house.

Oliver rises to 220k, Soyza down to 80k.
