Xiasheng Zheng wins the NLH 3 and Gabriel Carter dominates the WeLoveSport

Two more trophies left the APT Macau Championships 2018 awards table with Xiasheng Zheng and Gabriel Carter taking down respective events. Congratulations to the latest festival winners!

Xiasheng Zheng wins the No Limit Hold’em 3

It was a grueling race at the No Limit Hold’em 3. The event ran way past the midnight hour that the final 3 players agreed to an overnight break. Upon their return, Yanchao Li quickly fell leaving Xiasheng Zheng and Kai Paulsen to slug it out. 

In the end, it was Zheng who rose to victory to earn the HKD 99,000 first prize and his first APT trophy. Paulsen earned HKD 61,500 for his runner-up finish. The NLH 3 drew in 41 players and at HKD 7,700 buy-in each, it generated a HKD 278,400 prize pool with 7 players earning a cut. 

Gabriel Carter dominates the WeLoveSport.com event 

The WeLoveSport.com event had 46 players charging to the felt for some exciting high-fueled turbo action. By the time the bubble burst, UK’s Gabriel Carter had an enviable stack that simply could not be penetrated. 

At five-handed, he delivered the blow to every player in his path.He knocked out Jun Ho Kim with 4-4 over A-9 that missed; Yosuke Kijima with J-J over 6-6; and Kai Paulsen with Q-4 pair over Q-5 on a board of 2-4-8-Q-J. Entering the heads up round, he faced En Ching Wu with a dominating 10:1 advantage.

Wu managed to scratch a little off Carter but he too met his end with Carter’s Q 2 improving to two pair on a board 8 2 A Q 6 to defeat Wu’s Q J and seize the trophy.
