Samad Razavi celebrated his sweet double up of 43500 chips. It was pretty much an all in pre flop move that was called. Razavi had A♠ K♠ against his caller’s A♦ 10♦. The board ran 8♥ 2♥ 5♥ A♣ 5♠ giving Razavi the higher kicker.
Bryan Huang claimed himself a pot in a hand that began with him raising to 5000 pre flop and was called by the utg limper. At the flop of K♥ 9♠ 7♠, Huang led for 5500 and was smooth-called. On fourth street of J♣, Huang continued to pummel, sending out 17500 big ones, and was called once again. Then on the river of A♣, he slid out 24500 and with that, he won the pot as the bb folded.
Hoping to eliminate more players at the felt, Norbert Koh called Jereld Sam’s all in pre flop. Sam had A♣ K♣ while Koh had Q♠ 8♣. The board bricked and Sam doubled up.
Azusa Maeda was in a three-handed pot against Peter Janghwan Kiem and Kwan Kit Kwok with a turn board showing J♥ 9♥ 9♦ 10♠. Acting first was Kwok who laid out a 2000 bet. Maeda called. On the river of 5♦, Kwok bet again, this time 3000 only to get raised to 12000. Kwok tanked for a bit but eventually called. Maeda delivered the happy win with his 9♠ 9♣ quads.
Having lost a couple of big pots early in the day, Wittmann got it all in pre flop and was called by Jun Funabashi.
Wittmann: K♥ K♣
Funabashi: 6♠ 6♦
With the board running 4♥ 8♥ 9♥ 3♦ 6♥, Funabashi connected with a set but Wittmann had the better with a flush. Wittmann doubles up.
Crazy hand at table 12 where Yoichi Fujiya four-bet all in for 12500 and was called by one player. At the showdown, Fujiya had Q-Q against his opponent’s A-A. Needing to catch something to avoid elimination, the board kindly opened up a 10♥ 3♣ Q♦ 3♠ 10♣ giving Fujiya a full house. Incidentally, the initial raiser apparently folded his 3-3.
The silent Azusa Maeda and the big blind player called a 2800 pre flop raise by cutoff seat players Hendrik Appel. At the flop of Q♥ J♦ 6♠, they all opted to check to get a free look at the turn card of 4♠. Maeda checked, bb bet 4800, Appel called, but Maeda ever-so-quitely announced all-in for 23900. Both players folded.
Norbert Koh has been getting in a lot of pots at his table and winning quite a number of them. We recently saw him win a hand against Bastian Blumenroether, then followed it up shortly after by eliminating him with his A-7 over Blumenroether’s 8-7.
Several hands later, he won a 7100 pot with his 10♥ 9♦ that landed a pair on the board of 10♠ 4♦ 2♣ 4♥ Q♣.
Then he won a sizable 18,600 pot in a hand against David Steicke. On a turn board of 7♥ 5♣ K♠ 6♣, Koh bet 8700 and Steicke gave up his hand.
Peter Nguyen made Michael Mariakis very happy in this hand which started with a raise by Nguyen pre flop and then called by two players, Mariakis and Pham. With the pot now at 7400, a K♥ J♦ 10♠ was flipped on the board and acting first was Pham who checked to Nguyen. Nguyen bet 3500 sending the action to Mariakis who smooth-called. Pham folded. On the turn of 5♣, Nguyen dumped in 9400, and once again Mariakis called. Then on the river of 4♣, Nguyen was relentless and laid out a 15000 bet sending Mariakis to the think tank. Mariakis eventually shoved, making it another 19900 for Nguyen to call. Nguyen was in disbelief yet still made the call. Mariakis revealed his A♥ Q♥ straight and was paid a healthy double up.
With that win, Mariakis is now over the six-digit chip mark.
