Peter Nguyen made Michael Mariakis very happy in this hand which started with a raise by Nguyen pre flop and then called by two players, Mariakis and Pham. With the pot now at 7400, a K♥ J♦ 10♠ was flipped on the board and acting first was Pham who checked to Nguyen. Nguyen bet 3500 sending the action to Mariakis who smooth-called. Pham folded. On the turn of 5♣, Nguyen dumped in 9400, and once again Mariakis called. Then on the river of 4♣, Nguyen was relentless and laid out a 15000 bet sending Mariakis to the think tank. Mariakis eventually shoved, making it another 19900 for Nguyen to call. Nguyen was in disbelief yet still made the call. Mariakis revealed his A♥ Q♥ straight and was paid a healthy double up.
With that win, Mariakis is now over the six-digit chip mark.
