Bubble bursts! Huang ousts Joseph!

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Marc Joseph, one of the chip leaders entering Day 2, has just been eliminated in the bubble. The hand began with Joseph raising to 7000, re-raised to 23000 by Huang, then a shove of 81500 by Joseph. Huang called and flipped over his K K which was way ahead of Joseph’s A J. The board produced no ace for Joseph and with that Huang delivered the final elimination of the evening.


Siddiqui collects some from Appel

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Kamran Siddiqui and Hendrik Appel engaged in a pot that started off with Appel raising to 4500 which Siddiqui beefed up to 21000. Appel called. At the flop of 7 5 Q, Appel checked and told Siddiqui jokingly not to do anything stupid. Siddiqui laughed and agreed. He then bet 25000. Appel folded.


Ben Abrahams stays alive

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Ben Abrahams was looking down at 11500 chips while on the big blind seat and debated whether or not it was time to get it all in or fold to a raise of 6500 by Peter Nguyen. Abrahams stood and decided it was time to gamble his tournament life and went all in. Nguyen called and it was a showdown.

Abrahams: A 8

Nguyen: K J

The board bricked and Abrahams was safe from being the bubble. He doubled up and now has around 26000 chips.


Zhang gets aggressive

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Just after doubling up, Sunny Zhang has been very active at the felt with numerous raises pre flop and winning the blinds and antes. In a recent hand, he started it up with a 7000 raise, was answered by Norbert Koh with a 18000 three-bet, but Zhang remained unmoved and slid out 37000. Koh folded.

Right after, Zhang raised it up to 8000 from the utg seat and got a caller in Koh. The board ran A 5 and Zhang led for 20000. Koh folded to him again.


Hand-for-Hand

Full house over full house, Nguyen over Billgren

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Peter Nguyen has just shaved off some of Erik Billgren’s stack in a hand that was pumped up the pot on a filled board.

Board: 7-6-10-10-K

Billgren led for 23000, Nguyen raised ti 63000, Billgren flat-called. Billgren showed his 7-7 for a full house however, Nguyen had K-10 for a higher full house.


Zhang avoids elimination

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Sunny Zhang raised pre flop but when action landed on Bryan Huang’s lap, he slid out a tall stack of yellows chips putting Zhang all in. Zhang tanked for while then eventually took the gamble.

Zhang: A K

Huang:  A Q

With the board running 5 2 K Q 9, Zhang doubled up to around 140000.

Koh scalps Kiem; bubble time

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Norbert Koh has just ended Peter Kiem’s day with a very bad beat. Kiem was all in with Q Q and big-stacked Koh called with 9 9. The board ran 9 5 8 3 10 giving Koh the dominating win with a set.

With that elimination, we have now reached the bubble stage with 19 players left in the field.
