Karl Marx Villanueva and Yoichi Uesugi take parts of Dang Van Hien

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Dang Van Hien will not be seeing a second deep run alike his runner-up finish at the APT Southeast Asia Main Event. Hien was just eliminated by Yoichi Uesugi but not before getting chunked by Karl Marx Villanueva.

The hand against Villanueva began with a raise by Villanueva from the cutoff seat then Hien three-betting to a massive 25k. Villanueva answered with a  shove and Hien called.

Hien A J
Villanueva A 6

The board ran 7 6 A K 10 for a winning two pair to Villanueva.

Crippled down to around 5K, Hien managed to bring it up to around 15k but then fell to Uesugi. His final hand was A 6 against Uesugi’s 2 2. The board ran 2 8 J J 8 for a full house to Useugi.

Three for Threes – Juan Carlos Martin doubled up by Kiyohito Takeda

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Threes seem to be very active today. We’ve seen a couple of players hitting trips and sets with their threes and once again another came. Juan Carlos Martin was doubled up by Kiyohito Takeda with 3-3 hitting a set on a board of 5-A-3-2-Q.

Hai Le Nhu doubled up by Takumi Samejima

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Hai Le Nhu was put to the test by past APT Main Event champion Takumi Samejima that led to Nhu earning a double up. Action preflop began with Nhu raising to 4k, Samejima three-betting to 9k, then Nhu calling but not before giving it some serious thought.

On the flop 8 3 K, Nhu checked, Samejima bet 20k, and Nhu was once again in contemplation. He eventually opted to move all in for 31.1k. Samejima reluctantly called.

The turn 7 and river 5 further improved Nhu and he doubled up.

Not long after, Samejima was eliminated from the main.

William Ysmael earns a good one with his check-raise

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

In a three-way pot the flop showed 9 5 J and both William Ysmael and Jin Yong checked to Clarence Poh. Poh’s bet was called and it was still three way at the turn 2. All three checked and the river dropped 6. Ysmael checked, Yong checked, Poh bet 10.3k, then Ysmael check-raised to 40k. This induced a fold from both Yong and Poh.

Michel Ghanem rails Kazuto Sato

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Kazuto Sato had a confusing start to his day, seated at the wrong table and getting some chips in play in the first hand. The mistake was corrected and he was shuffled over to his rightful seat. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t last long with Michel Ghanem sending him out on crushing defeat. We caught the action at the shipping.

SJ Kim battles for a big pot against Ram Farajash

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

We only caught the action of this hand on the river with the board showing K A J 6 2. Soo Jo Kim bet 47k sending Ram Farajash deep in thought. Farajash folded and Kim won the big pot. By our calculations, Kim is now at 160K which isn’t too much of a jump from his starting day stack of around 128k but for Farajash, he is down to 140k, a big drop from his early rise today.

Andy Li Xueyan rails Doug Young Hyun

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Andy Li Xueyan climbed to aroudn 170k which is over 100k more than what he entered with today. He just railed Doug Young Hyun with J J defeating A 5 on a board that drew blanks for Hyun.

Jim Bonanno doubles up through Anh Nguyen
