Gyeong Byeong Lee and Hideaki Ohashi have been engaging in several pots together with both winning their fair share off each other. Here are two recent hands we caught between them.
First hand: action folded to the blinds and Ohashi raised to 17k, Lee three-bet to 40k, and Ohashi called. On the flop J♥ Q♦ 10♦ both checked. On the 6♠ turn, it was checked again. Then on the 10♣ river, Ohashi led for 20k, Lee raised to 80k, and Ohashi gave it up.
Second hand: After a table redraw, both players found themselves at the same table but different positions. From the cutoff seat, Lee raised to 13k and both blinds called, Yoichi Fujiya (sb) and Ohashi (bb). At the flop J♥ K♣ 4♦, action was checked to Lee who laid out a 15k bet. Fuyiya folded and Ohashi called. On the Q♠ turn, both checked and the river was dealt K♠. Ohashi checked, Lee bet 40k, and Ohashi called.
Lee A♦ 5♣
Ohashi J♣ 9♠ two pair
Yoichi Fujiya moved it all in with 82k in total. Lester Edoc had slightly more chips but still took time to decide. Edoc called.
Fujiya A♠ 10♥
Edoc 9♠ 9♦
The board came 7♣ A♥ 2♥ K♥ 8♠ and with an ace showing up, Fujiya doubled up and averted elimination. Edoc dropped to 11k.
Another quick elimination in this round with Kobechi falling to Zentaro Nakayashiki. Kobechi shoved preflop with A♠ K♦ but ran right into Nakayashiki’s K♣ K♥.
Table 18 has quite the lineup with four past APT Main Event champions seated. We just lost one of them however with Huu Dung Nguyen railed by another fellow champion, Mike Takayama. Nguyen shoved with K-Q and Takayama joined in with A-Q. With both missing the board, Takayama was awarded all of Nguyen’s chips.
We are at a short ten minute break. There are 31 players remaining. Leading in chips is SJ Kim with 500k. They will play until the bubble bursts with 18 places paid or until the end of Level 16 whichever is reached first.
Ong Dingxiang ended the hopes of Flo Campomanes at the Main Event and in turn became the biggest stack at his table. The hand began with a 9k raise by Campomanes followed by a three-bet to 27k by Ong on the small blind. Campomanes called and the flop ran A♠ 8♠ 5♣.
Ong led out for 25k, Campomanes called. On the turn 10♦, Ong checked, Campomanes bet over 100k, Ong jammed all in, and Campomanes called.
Ong A♥ 4♥
Campomanes J♠ 9♠
The river 5♥ was not one of the outs Campomanes needed to stay in the running and he was eliminated. Ong climbed to 440k.
Another player has fallen at the Main Event with Freddy Kwek Jin Wei as the next casualty.
Kwek K-6
Iori Yogo K-J
The board ran 7-6-J-9-2. Yogo now at average with 200k.
Yuri Odagiri was stopped in her tracks by none other than the biggest stack at her table, Soo Jo Kim. On a turn board of 5♥ 2♥ 8♣ 4♠, Odagiri bet 25k and sb Kim check-raised to 53k. Action back to Odagiri who jammed it all in. Kim snap-called.
Odagiri A♠ 3♥ straight
Kim 6♥ 3♦ higher straight
The A♣ river didn’t improve Odagiri’s hand and she was eliminated. Kim climbed to 530k.
Jannodin Riga three-bet all in and was called by chip leader Jin Yong. Riga held A♦ Q♦ and Yong with A♣ 10♣. The board offered no hits and Riga doubled up to around 120k.
