Derek’s String of Wins

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

First, Davor Derek won the hand after betting 325 on a flop of A 2 3 with a raised pot. A few hands later, Derek won a pre-flop raise and re-raising battle that saw him three-bet to 3,700– enough to force the fold from his opponent.

Tran Wins First Pot of the Day

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

After busting-out in yesterday’s Day 1A courtesy of his kings running into aces and after a few losing hands to start today’s Day 1B, Tran has finally won his first pot today.

On a board of K A 2 Q K, Tran put in a pot-sized bet 7,000– enough to force the fold from Carlos Chang. Tran scoops the pot and has over the starting stack of 25,000.

Swiss’ Set

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

Fabio Fumagalli of Switzerland led out with 200 per-flop and saw the player from the small blind re-raise it to 750. The Swiss called.

Flop: 2 4 10

The SB player bet 1,250 and Fumagalli called.

Turn: K

The SB player bet 2,675 and this time, Fumagalli made it to 6,000. The opponent called.

River: 7

The SB player then check-called Fumagalli’s 8,000 river bet and was shown the bad news after the Swiss tabled 10 10 for the set. The opponent mucked his hand and Fumagalli earns the big pot.

Chang At It Again

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

Carlos Chang made it 400 after a few limper and had 3 callers to bring in the flop Q J 7. All four checked and the dealer boarded the turn K where all players checked again.

On the river 8, a player bet 700 and was snap-called by Chang, who showed A K beating the opponent’s A 8.

Lim Gets One

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

Simon Lim opened to 150 from mid-position and found 3 callers.

Flop: 10 5 8

Lim led out again, this time with 350 and only the button player made the call.

Turn: 5

Lim bet another 800 and again the opponent made the call.

River: 6

Lim fired 2,100 and the opponent, perhaps buying the flush, folded his hand. Lim wins the nice pot.

Mr. T. Wins One Over Tran

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

From the hi-jack, Linh Tran limped into the pot and saw Alvin T. (We’ll get his name later, he only gave us the initial of his family name) raise to 650. Tran made the call.

Tran check-called 500 on the flop 7 5 J and both players checked the turn 5. On the river 2 Tran was the aggressor betting 1,650, which was called by Mr. T.

Tran: A Q
Mr. T.: A K

Big slick better than the big chick, in this case and Mr. T. wins the pot.

Benz Out-Kicks Opponent

Level: 1 Blinds: 25-50 Ante:

Sebastian Benz opened for 150 pre-flop and saw the hi-jack player make it 475. Benz made the call to bring in the flop 7 8 3. Benz check-called a bet of 550 and did the same on the turn K for 950. The river 5 was checked by both players and we have an early showdown.
