Tran Stops the Bleeding

After starting today’s play with around 60,000, Tran has taken some hits that brought him near the 35K-mark. A pre-flop win over Flo Campomanes put him right back over the 40K-mark.


Tolon Ousts Bathan, Cripples Seitaro

Level: 10 Blinds: 400-800 Ante: 100

Jay Tolon limped from under-the-gun and saw Arnold Bathan raise all-in his final 9,300. Seitaro wanted to join this party and flat-called while Tolon also called.

Both Tolon and Seitaro just want to see the rest of the board K J Q 7 K and checked all the way,

Tolon: 9 9
Bathan: A 8
Seitaro: 6 6

Tolon wins the pot to climb to over 82,000; Seitaro is now down to 20,000; and Bathan is busted out from the main event.


Steicke’s River Call

Level: 10 Blinds: 400-800 Ante: 100

On a board of A K Q K 7 David Steicke check-called Jerwin Pasco’s bet of 3,700. Pasco mucked and gave the nice pot to Steicke, who now has around 65,000 after the win. Pasco drops to 35,000.


Chang Surviving

Level: 10 Blinds: 400-800 Ante: 100

From the big blind, Carlos Chang shoved after 3 limpers and was successful in forcing the fold from all opponents. Chang climbs to roughly 20,000


Do Anh Loses Some to Minh Mau Nguyen

Level: 10 Blinds: 400-800 Ante: 100

We didn’t see the action before the pair checked the river but we saw Do Hoang Anh and Minh Mau Nguyen involved in a 40,000 pot.

Mihh Mau: A Q
Hoang Anh: A 2

Minh Mau out-kicks Hoang Anh and he wins the pot. Hoang Anh drops to around 70,000.


No Thanks to Bad Beat, Acfalle Sr. is Out of the M.E.

Level: 10 Blinds: 400-800 Ante: 100

Franklin M. Acfalle Sr. is out of the Main Event after shoving with 15,000 and had a caller in Jason Powers.

Acfalle Sr. was way ahead with A A and had Powers dominated with just A Q

Right on the flop Q 5 3, Powers earned the chance to actually pull off the bad beat. The turn 4 gave Powers new out! Nope,the straight didn’t come for Powers but another lady Q came! Acfalle Sr. gets busted out via a bad beat.

Acfalle Jr. is still in the running though. We have 107 players left in the field.

Adam Song woke up with A A and shoved with less than 32,000 or so and found a caller from the button who had 6 6.

Song just needed to avoid a bad beat to survived and he did when the dealer sang the same tune boarding 5 4 8 9 9 (Although any post-flop seven would have changed the tune for Song).

Song doubles through to around 65,000.

With a 10,000 pot and a flop of Q 10 5, Terry Gonzaga fired 9,000 and was called by Kodai Ishihara to bring the turn 7.

Gonzaga shoves his final 15,000 and was called by Ishihara!

Gonzaga was ahead with 5 5 but Ishahara was seriously buying his flush with A 3.

River K gave the Japanese the flush and Ishihara busts Gonzaga! The Japanese climbs to around 120,000.

 


Short-Stacked Paulsen Re-Raise Shoves

Level: 9 Blinds: 300-600 Ante: 75

Facing a 1,500 raise from Jim Bonanno pre-flop, Kai Paulsen moved all-in for his final 8,675 after starting the day with over 15,000. Bonanno tanks then folds to give Paulsen the small pot. Paulsen has around 11,000, still alive.
