APT Philippines 2015

Neil Nails One

Level: 3 Blinds: 75-150 Ante:

After losing a few hands in our previous reports, we saw Neil Arce take one down. With a limper behind him, Arce made it 500 and saw Jojo Tech make the call. The limper called for a three-way action on the flop K 3 10.

Tech bet 700, limper folded his hand and Arce flat-called to bring the turn 9. Both players checked allowing the dealer to board the river 10 where Tech check-folded to Arce’s 2,200 bet. Arce had 7 6.

Ash’s Aces (Four of ‘Em)

Level: 3 Blinds: 75-100 Ante:

Gifted with pocket aces and a flop of A 5 Q, Ash Lopez from the big blind led out with 800 and saw calls from the cut-off and the small blind (Simon Lim).

The turn A made it even better for Ash, who now has quads. He led out for another 1,050 and got a call from the CO player as Lim folded. On the river 8, Lopez shoved but failed to get the call from his opponent. Perhaps a check on the river would have been better?

Tran Wins More

Level: 3 Blinds: 75-150 Ante:

On a flop of A 10 10, Linh Tran added 550 to the middle and got a call from Tan Gay Peng. Tran added more on the turn 2 for 1,250 and river 4 for 4,500 and was called both times by Peng.

From the cut-off, Sebastian Benz opened to 300 but saw the small blind raise to 1,500. Benz responded with a re-raise to 4,000 only to see a three-bet to 9,000! Benz shoved his stack and got the call from the small blind for a showdown!

Benz: A A
Small Blind: J J

Benz was comfortably ahead in this one but needed to avoid a jack for his tournament life. The dealer boarded 2 K 9 A 2 and Benz stays in the Main Event now with over 45,000.
