The flop read 5♥ 6♠ 2♠ and Anthony Gabitan put 1,200 which JR Villanueva called. The turn 4♥ arrived and Gabitan stepped on the breaks but saw Villanueva bet 3,400 more. Gabitan called.
The river 3♣ landed making a straight on the board and Villanueva shoved his stack and Gabitan called.
Gabitan: Q♠ Q♦
Villanueva: A♠ 3♦
The players settled for a split pot.
To summarize, Gabitan was ahead pre-flop and post-flop; and Villanueva was ahead on the turn; before splitting the pot on the river. Unfortunate/fortunate for both.
On a board of 10♣ 9♠ J♣ 4♦, Ryan Hong bet 12,500 and got a call from Aso Seitaro. Another player, short-stacked and in danger of getting busted-out was also in the hand.
On the river 3♦, Hong fired the same amount of 12,500 only this time Seitaro got out of the way.
Short-Stacked Player: J♦ 10♥
Hong: K♦ Q♠
The two pairs by the player-in-danger looked good until he saw Hong’s flopped straight for the big pot.
Manuel Blaschke, our High Rollers champion in this APT stop is eliminated in Day 1B of the Main Event.
The dealer already boarded 4♦ 5♦ 9♥ A♣ when Blaschke called an all-in by Eric Shyong, who had him covered.
Blaschke: A♦ 3♥
Shyong: A♥ 9♦
The river wasn’t a deuce and the high-stakes champion is eliminated from play today. With his huge win in the High Rollers event, we have a feeling this is not the last time we’ll see Blaschke in this main event.
JR Villanueva: A♠ 9♠
Short-Stacked Player: 7♣ 7♠
Dealer boards K♠ 4♠ 2♦ 8♣ A♥ and that’s all she wrote for the short-stacked player.
On a raised pot with four players on a flop of 7♣ 5♠ 4♥, Neil Arce fired 2,000 and got a call from Eric Shyong as two other players folded. Arce fired another 4,000 on the turn K♥ and 10,000 on the river 2♠ where Shyong folded.
Julius Malzanini with Q♦ 8♦ hit two pairs on a flop of Q♣ K♥ 8♣ in a heads-up against Tan Gay Peng.
On the turn 7♦ Malzanini fired 1,800 and was called by Peng. Both players checked the river 7♥ and we have a showdown. Peng mucked his hand when he was showed the two pairs by Malzanini.
On a wet board of A♥ 9♠ 10♠, Toan Nguyen led out with 1,100 and saw Mike Fawaz add 2,000 more. Jojo Allado made the call and when the action returned to Toan he re-raised to 9,200 total. Fawaz shoved his stack and so did Allado, who along with Toan were the players at-risk in this three-headed showdown.
Nguyen: 10♦ 10♣
Allado: A♠ 6♠
Fawaz: A♦ 9♥
The turn 9♦ officially ousted Allado and gave Fawaz his own full house but was beat by Nguyen’s own boat. The river 4♣ gave the pot to Nguyen who climbs to over 65,000 while Fawaz is in near-elimination after this big hand.
A player from early position opened for 600 and saw four players make the call including Aso Seitaro from the small blind.
Flop: A♠ 5♣ J♣
The player from the button bet 1,000 after checks behind and Seitaro made the call while others folded.
Both players checked the turn 10♣ and river 10♠ and Seitaro wins the pot with 5♠ 4♥ which was better than the opponent’s pocket fours.
On a flop of 5♦ 10♦ 2♣ with a raised pot, Aso Seitaro led out with 1,700 and saw Neil Arce call. Seitaro opened after the turn 9♥ with 3,250 and once again, Arce met him in the middle. Same story on the river 8♣, this time for 5,550 with Arce not going away.
Seitaro shows 2♥ 2♦ for the set of ducks and Arce loses the pot.
