Florencio Campomanes and Feng Zhao checked the flop K♦ J♥ 8♠ with a 28,000 pot. On the turn K♣, Flo fired 32,000 and was called by Zhao. On the river 9♥, Flo check-called Zhao’s 79,000 bet.
Flo was shown the bad news when Zhao tabled K♥ 7♣ for trips and Flo mucked his hand. Flo drops to around 130K and Feng moves up to 850K or so.
Ha Duong – 1.2M
Jojo Tech – 950K
Feng Zhao – 750K
Yoichi Uesugi – 700K
Ha Duong opened to 28,000 and saw Sahil Agarwal move all-in for his final 147,000. Duong, who has the biggest stack in this final 10, wanted more and made the call.
Agarwal: K♠ J♠
Duong: Q♣ J♦
Agarwal was primed for a double-up as he was way ahead and the board 2♠ 10♦ 7♦ 9♠ 7♣ confirmed his rise to around 330,000.
On a turned board of J♠ 10♥ A♣ J♥ and with a very large pot of 200,000, Julius Malzanini fired about half-the-pot of 105,000 to the middle… Tech tanks, and folds to give Malzanini the nice pot. Malzanini has now nearly half a million in chips.
On the flop A♣ Q♣ J♥ and a pot of 60,000, Jojo Tech bet 36,000 in a heads-up against Patrick Draper, who re-popped to 72,000. Tech called.
On the turn 10♦, Draper led out for 50,000 and was flatted by Tech.
On the river 10♥, Draper led out for another 50,000 and after spending some time in the tank, Tech shoved and Draper snap-called.
Draper: K♠ 10♠
Tech: Q♦ Q♠
Tech’s boat buries Draper’s turned straight and the latter gets the boot in 11th place in the main event for $7,800.
On a flop of Q♥ K♦ 8♦, Jay Tolon check-shoved on Yoichi Uesugi’s 40,000 bet. Unfortunately for Tolon, it was an easy call for Uesugi, who tabled Q♣ Q♠
Tolon had K♥ 9♦ and needed a miracle to win this one. The turn A♣ meant Tolon was drawing dead and the insignificant river 7♠ just formalized his exit. Tolon is out in 12th place for $7,800.
We have had 14 eliminations in less than two hours! The 15th came when Hajime Mogi shoved with deuce-seven (suited!) and was called by Jay Tolon’s A♦ 10♣
Flop 5♣ Q♠ A♣, turn J♣ and river 4♠ and we are now to 12 players. Mogi is rewarded $6,300 for this effort in the main event.
Sebastian Benz had about 170,000 to start the day but got hit early. In this hand, he continued his struggle and got busted out.
In a pre-flop all-in versus David Steicke 10♦ 10♣, Benz had only 8♥ 8♠ and trailed big time.
He can’t find that eight on the flop Q♥ Q♠ 5♣ 3♦ 2♣ and Benz is out in 14th place for $6,300.
In a three-way pot, all of Jason Powers (at risk), Bobby Zhang (at risk, very short-stacked) and Yoichi Uesugi (big stack) were all-in pre-flop.
Powers: K♣ Q♦
Uesugi: A♦ J♣
Zhang: 2♠ Q♠
Uesugi padded the advantage on the flop 2♣ 3♦Jd} and turn 4♦ and river 3♣ can’t save neither at-risk player. Powers is out in 15th place for $6,300 and Zhang is out in 16th place for $5,300.
