Bobby Zhang limped into the pot and saw Jojo Tech from across the table raise to 10,000. Zhang called to bring the flop 6♣ 10♦ A♦.
Tech fired 12,000 and Zhang called for the turn 4♣.
Tech fired another 23,000 and once again, Zhang called to bring the river 2♦
On the last street, Tech fired the biggest: 32,000. Enough to force the fold from Zhang as Tech wins the pot. The APT Asian Series Cebu 2015 Main Event champion has now around 300,00 while Zhang dropped to 100,000.
Kenneth Khoo is down to 60,000 after his A♦ Q♦ lost to Sebastien Clot’s A♠ 10♠.
The board? Flop K♣ K♠ 5♠ gave Clot the flush draw for additional outs. Turn? A spade with 3♠ landing. Insignificant river A♣ and Clot is now at 100,000.
It’s Tetsuya Tsuchikawa vs. Samil Agarwal in premium pre-flop showdown:
Tet: Q♦ Q♣
Agarwal: A♠ A♥
Tetsuya’s in danger of getting crippled at this point if his hand doesn’t improve and find a queen. No lady on the flop J♦ J♣ 3♠ and still no lovely ones on the turn 9♥ and river 8♣. Tet drops to below 15,000 after this hand while Agarwal jumps to 250,000.
On a board of 4♦ A♦ K♥ 9♥, Flo Campomanes led out with 11,000 and sent Lee Seok Ho to the tank. “Coco” (the nickname the Korean gave us) eventually called.
On the river K♣, it was Coco who led out for a huge 46,000. Campomanes snap-called and this was the reason why:
Coco: A♣ K♠
Flo: K♦ 9♠
Full house vs. full house!
Coco jumps to over 200,000 after this hand while Flo drops to 50,000.
More and more pre-flop shoves coming including this one:
Sebastian Benz: A♥ Q♦
Short Stack: 2♥ 2♠
No bust out though as the board ran out K♦ 3♣ 4♠ 10♥ 4♦ and the short-stacked player survives. Benz drops to around 180,000. We’re still at 36 players.
Jun Saito has just doubled-up to roughly 40,000 thanks to his K♠ Q♣ which beat John Tech’s A♣ J♦.
The board read: 10♠ J♥ 6♦ 9♦ J♣
Still short-stacked but it ain’t over ’til it’s over for Saito.
We have a few players with over 250K in chips so far;
Makoto Ku Jibayashi – 273,000 (Started Day 2 with 16K+)
Feng Zhao – 340,000 (APT Philippines 2014 Main Event champion)
Ryan Hong – 400,000 (Day 1B chip leader with 169,550 to start Day 2)
Jimmy Johan open-shoved from UTG for 51,200 and had two callers– Julius Malzanini and Dennis Huntly (also all-in for final 40K+)– from late position.
Johan: A♦ 8♦
Huntly: K♦ K♣
Malzanini: K♠ K♥
Johan had outs and it came right off the flop A♠ 5♥ J♥. The turn 4♥ was a scare card for Johan (Malzanini had a heart) but no more worries on the river 5♦ as Johan tripled up to around 150,000. Huntly is busted out of the Main Event while Malzanini’s stack drops to roughly 170,000.
Ha Duong opened for 5,500 and saw Henrik Tollefsen re-pop to 12,000. Duong thought for a bit then three-bet to 30,000. Tollefsen four-bet shoved and was called by Ha Duong for a huge showdown.
Ha Duong: J♦ J♣
Tollefsen: A♣ K♥
No ace or king on the flop 6♦ 4♦ 3♦ turn Q♣ or river 9♦ and Tollefsen bows out of the tournament. Ha Duong climbs the chip rankings to nearly 230,000!
