Aces and Kings almost always means a pre-flop all-in between two players. That’s what happened when Ishihara Kodai bet 1,500, was raised by Jerwin Pasco to 5,500, and in turn was re-raised by Kodai for all of his stack. Pasco called.
Pasco: A♦ A♥
Kodai: K♣ K♠
No bad beat for Pasco on this one as the dealer boarded 2♠ 6♠ 4♦ 7♥ 4♠ and he doubles up to around 30,000.
Sam Nee opened to 900 from under the gun before the flop. Dennis Huntley called while a mid-position player raised to 2,500. The cut-off player wanted more too making it 7,000 total. When action returned to Nee, he had one move: ALL-IN.
The flat-caller folded, the raiser folded and so did the re-raiser to give Nee the nice pot and he climbs back to over 30,000.
A few hands after his stack took a major hit, Norbert Koh doubled-up. Still very short-stacked but at least still alive in Day 1C.
Koh shoved with A♠ 6♠ and got called by an opponent who had pocket nines.
Dealer boards J♣ 3♦ 5♠ 2♥ A♦ and Koh stays in the Main Event.
Fresh off winning the NLHE side event earlier in the day, Amit Roshanlal is quite active on his table.
On a flop of A♦ 2♣ 5♣, Roshanlal opened for 2,100 and called by Dennis Huntley and raised by Norbert Koh for 5,100. Roshanlal and Huntley called.
On the turn 3♠ both Roshanlal and Huntley checked their options while Koh shoved his stack right around the 8,000 mark. Roshanlal folds and Huntley calls.
Koh: A♥ 10♥
Huntley: A♠ Q♦
No ten or four on the river and Huntley doubles-up.
Jay Tolon entered Day 1C right at dinner break and immediately went to work when play resumed.
Tolon opened to 1000 pre-flop and saw a three-way action after Lee Da Nye and Edwin Marzan called.
Flop: 5♠ 3♣ 9♥
Marzan checked, Tolon bet 2,000 Lee Da Nye called and Marzan folded when action went back to him.
Turn: 9♠
Tolon fires another 4,500 but Ms. Lee Da Nye wanted to see a river and called.
River: 5♣
Tolon fires a huge 9,000 and this time Lee Da Nye folded his hand.
Tolon has around 34,000.
See you in 60 minutes! We’ve crossed the 200-player barrier for the Main Event but registration is still open until the start of Level 7!
Race to RWM for the last chance to win the Main Event title!
Feng Zhao three-bet to 2,625 pre-flop but still had a couple of callers.
Flop: J♦ 9♥ 3♥
The mid-position player bet first to 5,000, Zhao made the call and the other player got out of the way.
Turn: 2♦
Zhao called the MP player’s 7,000 on this street.
River: K♦
Both checked the river for the showdown:
Zhao: Q♦ J♠
Opponent: 10♦ 10♠
Just a few hands before dinner break, Adam Song doubled-up to roughly 32,000 of Feng Zhao.
With a pot of 6,000 or so on a flop of 2♦ 8♦ 7♥, Zhao bet 3,475 while Song moved all-in for his final 10,200. Zhao made the call.
Song: K♦ Q♦
Zhao: J♦ J♣
Song wanted a king or diamonds to continue playing the APT tune; he didn’t find that on the turn 2♥ but found the K♥ on the river.
Song survives the Main Event!
Short-stacked Wally Sombero is eliminated before dinner break.
In a pre-flop battle of raise-shove-call, Sombero’s A♦ 8♣ was way behind Gerard Bringley’s Q♣ Q♠.
Flop 8♦ J♣ 10♥, turn 6♦ and river K♥ is boarded and Sombero is out of Day 1C. Bringley climbs to over 40,000.
