Kodai Ishihara Crippled, Busted

Level: 15 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

On a flop of 8 10 6, Kodai Ishihara shoved but got a rather quick call from Tai Hoang.

Ishihara tabled 10 7 for top pair and flush draw while Hoang showed A 9 for straight AND flush draw.

Tai Hoang would celebrate right on the turn J and the river K was of no consequence. Ishihara dropped to about two big blinds while Tai Hoang has now over 180,000.

Ishihara got busted out immediately after this hand. We’re down to 42 players.


Quang Nguyen Ousted

Level: 15 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Julilus Malzanini raised 6,000 pre-flop and saw Nang Quang Nguyen move all-in for his 30,000-plus. The original raiser called.

Quang Nguyen: K 10
Malzanini: A 8

The dealer boarded 9 7 9 9 4 and Quang Nguyen is out of the Main Event. We’re down to 43 players.


Flo vs. Mogi

Level: 15 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Flo Campomanes opened with 5,700 pre-flop and found a caller in Hajime Mogi for the heads up.

Flop: 8 4 5

Flo led out again for 7,200 and Mogi called.

Turn: 5

Flo checked this time and Mogi fired 11,000 but was called by Flo.

River: J

Both players checked and showed their hands.

Flo: K 8
Mogi: K 7

Flo climbs to over 150,000 after the win.


Marc Rivera Doubles Through Huntly

Level: 15 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Dennis Huntly opened with 6,000 pre-flop and saw Marc Rivera shove with 48,500, just about 20 big blinds. Huntly tanked for a bit but eventually made the call.

Huntly: 7 7
Rivera: A 9

Huntly had the lead but not for long when the flop 9 4 9 landed. No change on the turnĀ  8 and river 8 and Marc Rivera doubles-up to over a hundred thousand.

Zhao Again!

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Back-to-back ITMs in an APT Philippines Main Event is now becoming closer to a reality for Feng Zhao, who racked up more chips to climb to roughly 270,000 in this Day 2.

Zhao opened for 4,600 and Nang Quang Nguyen called. However, the player from the cut-off shoved his stack (around 30,000). Zhao moved all-in as well and Nang Quang got out of the way.

Flop 6 9 Q turn 9 and river A and another player bites the dust and we’re down to 49 players in Day 2.

Meanwhile, Zhao becomes one of our chip leaders for the day.


Ishihara Climbs Back to Over 30 BBs

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

With a pot of roughly 50,000 and a board of 9 J 7 A Q, Kodai Ishihara shoved his final 16,000 and scared off all of his opponents. Kodai has still around 70,000.


Czardy Can’t Cut It

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

A pre-flop shove from Czardy Rivera for 18,100 and he got called by Sebastian Benz.

The flop A J 6 was the worst kind for Czardy and the turn 4 and river 10 didn’t provide any miracle and one Rivera is out of the Main Event. Brother Mark is still very much in it with around 85,000.

Benz climbed to 150,000 after the win against Czardy.
