After a series of serious raises and re-raises pre-flop, it went down to a four-bet all-in from Haresh Kukreja which was called Noel Araniel With premium hands involved, the showdown was not unexpected:
Araniel: K♠ K♥
Kukreja: Q♥ Q♦
Right on the flop however, the tide turned for Kukreja as the dealer boarded 2♦ Q♠ 8♠— the lady giving Kukreja the set! No more royalty on the turn A♥ and river 6♥ and Kukreja knocks out Araniel!
Vi Khoa’s cowboys survives an opponent’s big slick challenge.
On a flop of 8♦ 8♠ 5♥ and a raised pot, Khoa bet 8,000 and faced an all-in from the opponent and the MP player made the call.
MP Player: A♦ K♣
Khoa: K♥ K♦
Turn Q♦ and river 5♣ didn’t provide the ace and Khoa’s opponent gets busted out of the Main Event. Khoa climbs to over 50,000.
On raised flop J♥ 7♦ 10♥, Edwin Marzan led out with 3,000 but saw Manuel Blaschke re-pop to 10,000. Marzan shoved and was called by Blaschke!
Blaschke: 10♦ 10♠
Marzan: K♥ K♣
Turn Q♣ and river 3♥ can’t save Marzan and he drops to below 6,000. Blaschke doubles-up to 45,000.
On a flop of 2♦ 8♠ 6♦, Kwang Sic Kim’s bet of 5,000 was re-raised to a shove by the hi-jack player. Kwang, who had the pocket aces, made the call and was up against the opponent’s pocket queens.
No other lady on the turn K♠ or river A♠ and Kwang doubles-up to around 60,000.
On a community of 9♠ J♠ 8♣ A♠ 7♠, Jun Te bet 1,600 on a 3,000 pot. One player called and was shown Te’s 10♠ J♣ in what was a rivered straight. Te chips up a bit.
On a turned board of 10♦ Q♠ 10♠ 8♦ a UTG player check-called George Chehadeh bet of 4,000. The river 6♦ prompted the same action: UTG player checks, Chehadeh shoves his final 7,050 and the UTG player called!
Too bad because Chehadeh had completed a straight with J♣ 9♣ and the opponent had little choice but muck his hand.
The UTG player opened for 500 and had 3 callers to bring the flop 2♥ 4♣ 8♦.
Two players checked behind, Gerard Bringley bet 1,200 and only one player called as went down to a heads-up. Both players checked the turn Q♣ and on the river the UTG player check-folded on Bringley’s 1,500 bet.
Manuel Blaschke opened the action at 500 pre-flop and saw Lee Dan Nye call for a heads-up.
Flop: Q♠ Q♣ 9♦
Blaschke fires 600, Lee Dan Nye calls and the dealer turned A♦. Blaschke c-bets 1,300 and it was enough to force Lee Dan Nye to fold.
Four limpers walked into the flop 6♥ 9♥ 2♥. Both blinds called and Vi Khoa led for 500, which was called by Carlos Chang.
Both players checked the turn 3♣ and on the river 4♦ Khoa took a stab at it with another 500 bet. He was successful as Chang folded his hand.
