Norman Telan opened to 1,600 preflop and saw 3 willing customers meet him in the middle.
All players checked the flop 10♥ 9♦ A♣ but on the turn 10♦ the big blind re-started the betting action by putting 3,100 in the middle. Telan made the call as the other two players folded their hands.
Both players checked the river 3♠ and we’re off to a showdown:
Small blind player had a busted straight with just J♣ Q♣ and Telan’s ducks ( 2♦ 2♠) quacked their way to over 60,000 in chips.
With the healthy pot and a board of 9♥ 5♣ J♦, a player from the button bet 2,700 and Antonio Martins at the small blind made the call.
Both players checked the turn 9♦ but Martins added 11,000 more after the river 8♥ arrived.
Button player tank-called with A♠ J♥ and it was the wrong read as Martin had 6♣ 7♣ for the rivered straight.
Martins joins the 100K club as he reaches the century mark with this win.
Maria Carmen Esdaile is chasing future hubby Sam Razavi in the APT Player of the Year Leaderboard.(Carmen is #2, while Razavi is #1)
We surmise, this is opposite of what happened years/months ago when it was Razavi who was chasing Esdaile before they were engaged.
Tonight at the Genting Club at RWM, both of them are chasing all-important APT POY points in the MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo side event and even found themselves seated on the same table– and beside each other too.
South Korean Son Chan Wook opened the action preflop with a small raise. From across the table, Filipino Mike Takayama responded with a re-pop only to see Wook move all-in for his final 11,000 or so.
Takayama called and we have a showdown with the South Korean at risk.
Wook: A♣ J♣
Takayama: K♦ K♠
The flop A♦ J♥ 10♦ immediately gave the lead to the South Korean and he even filled his boat when the last two cards 3♥ A♣ arrived.
Takayama drops to around 38,000 while Wook rises to around 28,000.
Lebanese Hanna Khalife opened the action at 1,500 preflop but saw teh cut-off player re-pop to 4,300.
No problem says Khalife, who made it 13,100!
CO player called and we have a showdown:
Khalife: K♥ K♠
CO Player: Q♠ Q♣
No ladies on the board J♥ A♠ J♠ 4♦ A♦ and Khalife’s Kings give him over 60,000 in chips.
When the player from the small blind tried to steal his big blind, Dong Bin Han knew one thing but a decisive act: ALL-IN for 22,150.
This put the SB player deep into the tank as calling Han’s shove could mean his tournament life.
He eventually called and and it was the right decision (at that point): his K♦ Q♠ was ahead of Han’s 6♦ 4♣.
The flop gave both their pairs when the Q♣ 7♥ 6♣ arrived. However, the next two cards were tough to take for the SB player.
The turn 4♥ punched him in the guts and river 4♠ kicked him in the nuts and he is sent black and blue to the rail.
Han survives, thanks to protecting his big blind, and moves up to roughly 45,000 in chips.
Ian Brion was halfway out the door before the river came.
All-in with his final 11,000 with just A♥ 7♥, Brion faced an opponent’s pocket sixes in a preflop battle.
Flop K♦ 4♣ 8♦ provided no sort of help and the turn 10♦ gave no glimmer of hope.
And then, the poker gods decided to give Brion his lease on life by gifting him with a 7♣ on the river.
Brion survives and rises to roughly 22,000 in chips.
Andrew Gaw has just been sent to the rail.
When we got to the table we saw a board of 2♦ 7♥ Q♦ 10♣ and Jun Saito was all-in. Gaw tank-called and was up against Saito’s A♦ K♦ against his 10♦ 10♠.
All Gaw needed to survive was to avoid a diamond… Unfortunately, the river decided to give Saito just that when the 4♦ arrived…
Gaw is out and Saito reaches the 100K mark as well.
