APT Asian Series Manila 2013 Main Event

Bubble Has Been Burst! Day 2 is Over!

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Unfortunately, we did not get the name of the bubble for this main event. As with most cases, he exited the tournament area before we our hand reporters could get to him… And with most cases, we don’t want to press the action with all the emotions involved of being the bubble.

45 players remain and all of them will be paid at least PHP 69,000.

See you tomorrow for Day 3 when we play down to the Final Table.

Post Edit: After some research we have been able to identify the bubble: Alistair Duff.

Dam It!

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Holding K Q Edward Dam shoved and found a caller in Jessie Supnet who had A K.

The bubble is about to be burst right?

Flop K 8 10 changed nothing, turn J gave Dam outs and he got it on the river 9 for the straight!!!

Dam knocked on the table so hard it shook the entire room!

Survival Mode

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Two short stacks shoved in this hand-for-hand.

First one was Calvin Gellido, who held the aces and was up against an opponent’s K J. Gellido survived.

Second one was Ton Lim, who had pocket tens against A Q. Like Gellido, Lim survived and the bubble has not been burst yet.

Hand-for-Hand!

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

46 left!

And one of our remaining players will be named the bubble boy!

Late Chip Counts

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Marc Rivera – 400,000
Jerry Lai – 550,000
Lester Edoc – 550,00
Craig Sloan – 460,000
Victorino Torres – 420,000

We surmise that one of these names won’t be the bubble boy tonight?

Huge Pot for Lai

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Jerry Lai check-called on the flop 9 Q 2 after Annie Bordallo’s 15,000-bet.

Both checked the turn J and on the river 7, Lai led out for 38,000 but Annie added 65,000 more for the raise… Lai tanked and tanked but eventually made the call.

Bordallo: A K
Lai: Q J

Lai’s good call brings him to over 500,000 in chips while dropping Bordallo’s to around 150,000.

High Roller Champ Falls

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Right off the dinner break, we saw a flurry of eliminations. One of them involves the APT Asian Series Manila 2013 High Rollers Champion, Joshua Stefansky from USA.

Preflop, the high-stakes titlist opened to 35,000 which was called by Joven Huerto of the Philippines.

Stefansky shoved his remaining stack (85,000) on the flop 9 4 3 but Huerto made the insta-call tabling J J.

The high-stakes champ showed complete air with 6 K. Turn and river changed nothing and Stefansky is out of the Main Event.
