APT Asian Series Manila 2013 Main Event

Powerhouse Battle: Huang vs. Tollefsen

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

Bryan Huang is one of the more popular pros in Asia whil Henrik Tollefsen is one of the rising stars with a recent big win in the last APT Macau Main Event last July.

Huang and Tollefsen went head-to-head in one of the recent hands in Level 7.

Tollefsen opened the betting with 1,200 preflop but Huang responded with 2,600. Henrik made the call to bring the flop K 3 3 to the table.

On the turn Q, Huang led out with 2,500, which was called by Tollefsen. Both checked the river 9.

Tollefsen showed Q J to win the pot as Bryan mucked his hand.

Le Bullets: “Sorry, Ladies”

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

A classic Pre-flop all-in involving premium hands featuring Nam Le’s pair of aces vs. an opponent’s pair of queens.

The board 10 3 6 4 8 provided no ladies and Nam Le’s aces can’t be cracked as he climbs to over 55,000 in chips.

Pignatelli’s Bullets Eliminates One

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

A UTG player opened the action to 800 and found callers from the cut-off and button. The big blind player, Ryan Pignatelli thought the pot was too small though and raised to 2,300 total.

The CO player moved all-in for his final 5,925 as the other two players both moved out of the way but with Pignatelli making the call.

Pignatelli: A A
CO Player: 2 2

Flop: 9 9 9
Turn: A
River: 7

And just like that, another one bites the dust.

Straight to the Rail Courtesy of Ming Kee

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

The dealer already tabled A 8 3 2 when we got to the action between Marcuss Ming Kee vs. an opponent from early position.

The EP eplayer check-called Ming Kee’s 5,500 turn bet and then on the river 10 his opponent went all-in which was snap-called by Ming Kee, who had 5 4.

EP actually made his set with 10 10 but it wasn’t enough to beat Ming Kee’s straight and the former gets the boot from Day 1A.

No Passing Through this Hall

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Lawrence Hall made a raise on the button to open the action to 1,600. The short-stacked player from the big blind shoved his stack worth around 5,200 and saw Hall make the easy call for a preflop showdown.

Short-Stacked Player: A K
Hall: 10 8

Unfortunately for the SS player the flop 6 10 9 immediately gave the lead to Hall. No sort of help from the turn 3 and river 10 and Hall eliminates his opponent from Day 1A.

2010 APT Champ Joins Day 1A Field

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Michael Cua is one of our late entries for Day 1A. The APT Philippines 2010 Main Event champion ups today’s field to 158 players… 30 mins left in this level and half an hour left for the late registrants for Day 1A…

Noisy Narang’s Mighty Bluff

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

If it’s a noisy table… Mandeep Narang must be there.

The board already showed 8 5 K J and a healthy pot of 6,000.

And then, Narang shoved his stack worth roughly 12,600– a big bet that put his opponent from under the gun deep into the tank…

After a few banters here and there, he finally got away from his hand and folded A K face-up.

Much to the delight of the outspoken Narang, who showed 2 3 for the flush draw.

Ace-High Good Enough for Nam Le

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

A healthy nice pot of 5,000 in the middle and we saw Nam Le call down his opponent with ace-high.

Board: 9 10 J 4 3

Le showed A 8 and his opponent mucked his hand.
