Year-End Fever: APT-RWM Poker Finale 2014 Kicks Off Today, Caps Off ‘Quality’ APT Season

The APT-RWM Poker Finale 2014 is the culmination of what was another great season for the Asian Poker Tour (APT), the most prestigious poker event this side of the world. The final APT tournament in the country for the year is expected to draw large numbers once again as APT regulars chase all-important points for the APT Player of the Year race and poker enthusiasts in th aim for one last shot at glory for 2014.

The eight-day poker festival is scheduled to run from December 3 to 10, 2014 at the Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Pasay City, Philippines. Before the start of the Philippine finale, APT tournament director Lloyd Fontillas looked back at what transpired for APT in 2014.

2014 for us is what we can call a building year for APT staging fewer events. But we believe that we staged much more quality events in getting great play numbers,” Fontillas said emphasizing that this was a season when the tour went “quality over quantity”.

The tournament director also underscored the fact that the APT-RWM Poker Finale 2014 is not just about ending the APT season with a bang but to serve as a sign that the APT will have an even better year next season.

Due to hard work, we are working with some new and some old partners to create this up coming year our biggest and busiest ever! This Finale is indeed going to be an exciting and action packed event setting the stage to for us to have our busiest year ever this coming 2015.”

The APT-RWM Poker Finale 2014 begins today, December 3 with the RWM Poker Fiesta 2M GTD with an PHP 11,000 buy-in. Two flights for the first side events are on tap at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM with the Final Day set on tomorrow December 4 at 1:00 PM.

For as low as PHP 120, players can crash into the two million guaranteed event by joining the “One HAND” RWM Poker Fiesta 2M GTD Satellite Step 1s set from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM also on today. Qualifiers from that one-handed, quick tournament advance to the “One HAND” RWM Poker Fiesta 2M GTD Satellite FINAL Step (with direct buy-in of PHP 1,200) set at 5:30 PM the same day.

The APT-RWM Poker Finale is the penultimate APT event for the year with the APT Asian Poker Series Prague 2014 scheduled from December 16 to 18 at the King’s Casino located within the Corinthia Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic.
