Today’s games: 158 return for Main Event Day 2, registration still open; NLH Event and satellites

Welcome to another great week of APT Philippines Championships 2018 festivities ahead. We have a few games on deck for you today but first, here’s a short review on the Main Event.

There were a combined 290 entries on the starting days with 158 advancing to today’s Day 2 round. Registration is still open. Players must sign up before it cuts off at the start of Level 10.

Entering Day 2 as the overall chip leader is Malaysia’s Lee Chin Yong. Yong topped Day 1A with 192,750. In second position is a decorated a APT Main Event champion, Korea’s SJ Kim. He comes in with 139,600. Rounding out the top three is Chinese Taipei’s Jack En Ching Wu with 119,675. Wu led the Day 1B survivors.

Also joining the leaders are 11 other APT major title-holders however defending champion Mike Takayama failed to make it through. With registration still open, we do hope to see him jump in. Day 2 action begins at Level 9, blinds at 300-600 ante 75. Blinds increase every sixty minutes. Cards in the air at 1pm. They will play another 8 rounds or to the money, whichever is reached first.

Side Events today

For those not fortunate enough to be in the main, we’ve got more poker games lined up for you. At 2pm is the No Limit Hold’em event. Players start with a 10,000 stack, opening blinds at 25-50 with increases every 30 minutes. Buy-in is Php22,000. Keep in mind that if we do not reach the final eight players by 10pm, this will become a two-day event.

A few hours later, we’ve got a High Rollers Mega Satellite for you running at 5pm. This is the only HR satellite offered to the Php107,500 buy-in High Rollers event so best take advantage of this opportunity. Our High Rollers event has seen consistent growth in numbers with more and more players enjoying higher stakes, a tighter field, and a juicy prize pool. Entry fee to the satellite is Php17,500.  

At 6pm is the Championships Event Mega Satellite. Players get a chance to turn their Php12,000 buy-in to a possible Php110,000 seat to the featured APT Championships Event.
