Today: Championships Event Day 2 at 1pm, registration still open; PLO Hi and WeLoveSport.com Event

Welcome back everyone! After that quick one day break, the APT Philippines Championships 2018 is at Resorts World Manila once again and ready to fire you up with more events for the last three days of the series. Stepping up to the plate today are three events, starting with the Championships Event Day 2 at 1pm.

After the completion of two starting days, the Championships Event had 82 entries with 51 advancing to today’s round. Players can still jump in to this event however you only have one hour from the start of Day 2 to secure a seat. Registration will close at the start of Level 10.

Action resumes at Level 9 with blinds at 600-1200 ante 200. As usual, blinds escalate every sixty minutes. The plan today is to complete another 8 levels. We will have the official tally and prize pool for you once registration closes.

Championships Event Day 2 Chip Leader, Gyeong Byeong Lee

Entering as the overall chip leader is Korea’s Gyeong Byeong Lee who bagged up 331,700 in Day 1B. Philippines’s Mike Takayama is in second position with 204,200. Third in rank is England’s Daniel Furnival with 175,600 followed by the Day 1A chip leader, Japan’s Tetsuya Tsuchikawa in fourth position. To complete the top 5 is India’s Jaydeep Dawer with 149,600.

Side Events Today

In addition to the Championships Event, two APT customized side events will also shake up the floor. For all you PLO fanatics, come on out! The Pot Limit Omaha Hi gets underway at 3pm. Buy-in is Php16,500. This is the last PLO event offered in the schedule.

Then at 6pm, the WeLoveSport.com Deep Stack Turbo joins the action. These turbo events are the most attractive side events in that they are fast and fierce and they last all of one evening. So for those with only a window to fill that poker appetite, this is perfect for you. Buy-in is Php5,500.
