47 runners put up the VN₫ 65,000,000 (~US$ 2,800) High Rollers event buy in to build a prize pool of VN₫ 2,735,400,000 (~US$ 117,829). After a lengthy ten and a half hours of final day play Vietnam’s Chu Thai Thinh emerged victorious to lift his first ever APT trophy and the VN₫ 858,350,000 (~US$ 36,975) first prize. This was Thinh’s maiden APT win and largest career payout. He defeated UK pro Alex Lindop at heads up.

Final day action saw many decorated players sitting elbow to elbow such as Nguyen Quang Huy, Thomas Ward, Tran Huy Hoang, Huu Dung Nguyen, Chi Chung Ho, Nguyen Ngoc Dai, but none of them reached the money round. Falling one spot shy was Huynh Ngoc Cuong with K Q outdrawn by Florencio Campomanes10 8 on a board of 4 8 10 Q 7

With the money intact, the hunt for the top prize ran another five and a half hours. A majority of that time Thinh sat on the biggest stack. At six-handed Thinh cleaned out Nguyen Nam Duong then Campomanes fell to Ng Khoa Anh with A J spiking the ace to outdraw pocket Queens. At four handed, a thrilling three-way showdown sent Anh out of commission with K Q trips lower kicker to Dennis Ng‘s A Q higher kicker on a board J 9 2 Q Q. Lindop was also in the hand with A K that paid Ng a double up. Ng’s rise however didn’t last, falling in 3rd place to Thinh.

Heads up opened with Thinh backed by an immense advantage. Lindop doubled up to even them up. One hour in, Lindop was down again and got called all in with Q 9 over A 8. With the cards running 7 3 7 A 7, it was a winning full house to Thinh.
