Side event winners: Chester Tan and He Zong Chi

While APT Taiwan 2020 awaited the turnout of the featured Championships Event Day 2, two side events were also up and running. The Deep Stack Turbo was first to conclude with Singapore’s Chester Tan proving the mightiest for his maiden career title. At the Mixed Game NLH / PLO, local pro He Zong Chi bringing Taiwan its fifth series victory.

He Zong Chi goes from bust to best 

Local hotshot He Zong Chi has a long list of titles under his belt, a mix of major and side events all won in Taiwan including an APT Taiwan 2019 Main Event win back in October. When his bid for another fell short at the Championships Event, he immediately took on the Mixed Game NLH / PLO and once again triumphed to pocket TW$ 111,900 (~US$ 3,700).

Chester Tan wins first-ever APT title at the Deep Stack Turbo

Singapore’s Chester Tan powered through the 46 entries of the Deep Stack Turbo event. This was Tan’s first recorded live victory. He pocketed TW$ 70,100 (~US$ 2,300) for his achievement. That’s quite a profit from buying in for just TW$ 5,500 (~US$ 180).
