HomeTAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – If Day 2 of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taiwan 2022 Main Event wasn’t pulsating enough, the three scheduled side events also kept poker aficionados enthralled and (as the saying goes) “due to insistent public demand”, an additional High-Roller tiff was included in what has been an action-filled day at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) here.
While the sixty players who advanced in the Main Event trudged on in their quest for the NT$1,440,900.00 (US$45,286.00) top prize, (Event #11) the Super Deep Stack Turbo (S-DST) and its cousin (Event #12) the Hyper Deep Stack Turbo (H-DST) tried to steal some of the thunder (and tension) away from the seriousness of the acknowledged centerpiece.
First to conclude was the H-DST with Tsung En Yeh proving to be quite the DST specialist, this time emerging victorious after a runner-up finish in yesterday’s (Event #10) Deep Stack Turbo.

Tsung came away with the title and the top prize of NT$34,600.00 (US$1,088.00). The runner-up this time was Yu Cheng Hu for NT$23,100.00 (US$726.00) while Lin Wei Kai got second runner-up honors and NT$16,100.00 (US$506.00).
Then just after the Final 8 was known in the Main Event, the S-DST came to an end with local tournament veteran Teng Chang besting a field of 81 entries for the win and NT$73,600.00 (US$2,320.00).

Guan Jhong Fang–who took down (Event #4) the first single-day NLH here–settled for second place this time for NT$49,000.00 (US$1,540.00) while third went to Ping Hsien Chan for NT$34,200.00 (US$1,075.00).
Not long after, (Event #13) the NT$11k (US$346.00) single-day NLH wrapped up with WSOP campaigner and APT Taiwan 2022 High-Roller Series Giant Stack Turbo champion Ta Wei Tou adding another piece of hardware to his possessions with the victory and NT$164,000.00 (US$5,155.00).
Ta, who has tournament wins and cashes in the Philippines, Macau, Australia, Korea and the United States and is ranked sixteenth in Taiwan’s All-Time Money List, outlasted a field of 58 entries.

Tien Wei Yao finished second for NT$109,300.00 (US$3,435.00) while third place was copped by Chen Yungyu for NT$76,300.00 (US$2,398.00).
Finally past midnight, the “additional” NT$27k (US$850.00) High-Rollers also finished with the legendary Chen Yen Han–better known around the world as Pete Chen–nailing his ninth APT title.

Also known as “Turbo Pete”, Chen, who is ranked second in Taiwan’s All-Time Money List (just behind Taichung City native James Chen) with almost US$4M in career earnings, collected NT$281,800.00 (US$8,857.00) and adds to his impressive 2022 haul which includes a WSOP Online Bracelet, as well as live cashes in the United States, Spain, Malaysia and here in Taiwan.
His last APT victory, however, was back in March of 2021 when he took down the Monster Stack event here.
Landing in second was Fubang Huang, earning NT$152,200.00 (US$4,784.00) and third went to Sin Ren Chen for NT$89,900.00 (US$2,825.00).
Preceding the Final 8 of the Main Event tonight (3rd October) is (Event #14) the first of the Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) competitions starting at 2:00PM (UCT+8) followed by (Event #15) the fourth NT$27k (US$850.00) single-day High-Roller at 3:00PM while (Event #16) the second DST tilt kicks off at 6:00PM.
The Final 8 of the Main Event will be broadcasted on a fifteen minute delay via the APT’s Twitch channel.
