Massive Player Support for the APT Poker Finale 2015 Welcome Event!

The Asian Poker Tour Finale 2015 has taken off to a fantastic start at the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Casino Filipino with players coming in droves to participate in the opening event, the P1,000,000 Guaranteed Welcome Event. There were a total of 141 entries for flight A, and with flight B yet to come, there is no doubt that this opening event will easily surpass the guaranteed prize pool.

While flight A is underway, one of the big stories to watch out for today is the APT Player of the Year 2015 race with UK’s Samad Razavi and Japan’s Iori Yogo already at the felt. Both players are in contention for the APT Player of the Year 2015 title. Reigning king Razavi has held the title for the past three consecutive years and is currently ahead in the leaderboard with 2649.50 points. Yogo is running close behind with 2479 points.

Other notable players also in the field today are Norway’s Kai Paulsen, Japan’s Gerard Bringley, Filipino player Jessie Leonarez, and Korean players Sim Jae Kyung aka Simba, Seung Soo Jeon, and SJ Kim to mention a few.

The APT Poker Finale 2015 will run from Wednesday, December 9, 2015 until Thursday, December 17, 2015. The schedule boasts of a P50,000 buy-in Main Event plus 18 exciting side events. Among today’s festivities was the awarding of the top three players in the APT Challenger Series. The series was held in three separate legs from September-November 2015 at the APT Poker Room. After making the final table at the first event, cashing in the second event, and winning the third event, Emman Segismundo earned the 50,000 credit first place prize and the APT Challenger Series Player of the Year trophy. Coming in second place was Gia Guison who earned 25,000 credits, and in third was Giovanni Regidor. Congratulations to the winners!
