Main Event Day 3 will see 57 players hunt down a Final 8 seat; Tony Khalil Chaya and Sajal Gupta win trophies

Nonstop action at APT Summer Festival Hanoi at the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) with two trophy events to enter – the two-day High Rollers and Short Deck. Before those hit the felt, the Main Event resumes with 57 remaining. The event generated a massive VN₫ 9,447,800,000 (~US$ 402,800) prize pool from the 487 total entries. Day 6 results

At Day 6 of the series, another two first time winners emerged, Tony Khalil Chaya and Sajal Gupta. We’ve got those results below. One race getting everyone scrambling is the APT Player of the Series. Players that have cashed at any of the trophy events automatically earned points so if you are one of them, make sure to check your standing daily. After 11 side events completed, Malaysia’s Chang Xiang Guang jumped seven notches to 5th rank.

Emotional victory for TONY KHALIL CHAYA at the Deep Stack Hyper Turbo 

Lebanese player Tony Khalil Chaya was overwhelmed with joy after capturing his first ever APT win. Chaya entered heads up behind in chips then cracked pocket aces to nearly wipe out Weon Jae Yoon. Two hands later it was all over. Chaya was champion and was awarded a trophy to forever commemorate the moment. In addition, he pocketed the VN₫ 54,770,000 (~US$ 2,335) first prize. After all the photos, Chaya could be heard on the mobile gushing with euphoria. Congratulations to the new champion!

SAJAL GUPTA hits two outer to win High Rollers Single Day

Indian player Sajal Gupta was another first time APT winner. After busting out of the Main Event, Gupta jumped in the High Rollers Single Day looking for redemption. He navigated his way into the final table, then into the money round with five remaining. Heads up was reached when Gupta’s King-Nine outdrew Hoang Thai Son‘s Ace-Two to face Superstar Challenge runner up Nguyen Quang Minh for the title. Nguyen was ahead in the count but had difficulty closing it out. Gupta doubled up three times to take the lead then won it after landing a two-outer with 9 9 spiking a nine at the flop to bad beat Nguyen’s J J. Gupta won an APT event trophy and VN₫ 335,670,00 (~US$ 14,311).
