Main Event Day 1A headlines 7 events in busiest day of APT 2022 Philippines calendar

PASAY CITY, Philippines – The most hectic day in the Asian Poker Tour 2022 Philippines calendar commences today (November 17th) as Day 1A of the Main Event is joined by (Event #4) the finale of the Professional Offline Poker League (POPL) Head-Hunter, (Event #6) the much-awaited Women’s Event, Day 1 of (Event #7) the Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) tiff, a Super Satellite to the Main Event’s Day 1B and a couple of High-Rollers tilts could have all hands on deck at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.

The last staging here last September saw the Main Event hit 497 and had the prize pool balloon to PhP24,104,500 (US$419,884) and the forecast is that the current PhP15M (US$261,362) could also easily be surpassed. 

The Buy-in for the Main Event is PhP55,000 (US$958) and has multiple re-entries allowed until the end of the first two levels of Day 2 which makes for interesting strategy planning for the varying players considering a shot at this prestigious APT title.

The Philippines’ Hernan Villa is the reigning titlist from last September and also took home the top prize of PhP4,560,300 (US$79,450).

Not to be outdone is the POPL Head-Hunters that drew 94 entries and now carries a prize pool of PhP1,353,600 (US$23,587) with the eventual winner getting PhP355,800 (US$6,200)

About to get underway are the Women’s Event and the PLO tourneys as would-be participants are already flocking the registration area. Both begin at 2:00PM (UCT+8).

Later on, (Event #8) the first of three PhP65,000 (US$1,132) Single Day High Rollers at 3:00PM as well as a new entry in (Event #9) the High-Rollers 6-Max Hyper Turbo that has a buy-in of PhP43,000 (US$749) tonight at 6:00PM.
