Main Event: China’s Pan Yue Feng bags a big one at Day 1B; 47 advance out of 125 entries

The inaugural Asian Poker Tour Vietnam Hanoi at the Grand Loyal Poker Club completed another Main Event starting day with 125 turning up for Day 1B. Combined with yesterday’s Day 1A, the event has now drawn 198 total entries, and with only 250 needed to meet the VN₫ 5 Billion guarantee, it is certain to crush it coming Day 1C.

After the scheduled nine rounds of play, China’s Pan Yue Feng bagged the lead with a towering 192,200 in chips. This was equivalent to nearly 8 starting stacks. Pan took command of the overall Day 2 counts and set the bar very high for the final starting day to come. Also advancing via this heat were Mystery Bounty champion Huy Quang Nguyen who racked up the second largest stack of 177,200, and Super High Roller champion Pham Tien Dung with 80,000. Day 1A chip leader Huu Dung Nguyen was bumped down several notches to fifth rank.

Bubble Protection

To spice thing’s up, the APT extends an incentive for all the early birds, the Bubble Protection. This is a very powerful perk to have. In the unfortunate event that you find yourself busting on the bubble, the APT will give you back your buy in in the form of APT credits. To qualify for Bubble Protection all that’s required are these simple steps:

  • Pre-register
  • Draw for your seat
  • Have your chips in play by the first deal of Level 1
