Billgren gets paid with a set of jacks

Erik Billgren is clearly on a roll getting paid for his big hands. In a recent one, he called a pre flop min-raise by Kwan Kit Kwok, and was joined by two other players, Ben Abrahams and David Steicke. At the flop of 10 J 5, everyone checked for a free turn card of 3. Kwok kicked off the betting with a 9400 bet which was called by Billgren and Steicke. On the river of 6, Steicke and Kwok checked to Billgren who slid out a 16000 bet, got a fold in Steicke but a call from Kwok. Billgren revealed his J Jset which seemed to shock Kwok a bit. Billgren collected another sizable pot to add to his arsenal.


Siddiqui’s cowboys eliminate Goh’s ladies

Level: 15 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Kamran Siddiqui three-bet all in with 97100 chips putting Gilbert Goh with 95500 in the hot seat. After tanking, Goh could not fold his hand and called. Siddiqui had K K versus Goh’s Q Q. With the board running A 7 6 9 6, Goh was eliminated and Siddiqui rose to almost 200K chips.


Billgren burns Pham with a full house

Erik Billgren has just stopped Tien Pham in his tracks! With bigger stacks at their table, both players were looking to keep chipping but instead, ran into each other. According to Billgren, the all in action happened between them on the river with a board showing 9 6 4 6 2. Acting first, Billgren bet 12000 into an already massive pile in the middle. Pham raised to 35000. Billgren shoved and had Pham covered. Then Pham eventually called for his tournament life. Pham had K Q for a flush but was way behind Billgren’s 4-4 for a full house.


Billgren chipping up slowly but surely

Like Tien Pham, Erik Billgren is also gaining some momentum. Billgren won a pot worth 10000 against David Steicke when he landed a straight on the river. But one of the better hands we saw was against Peter Nguyen. It started with a raise by Nguyen to 4200 pre flop. Billgren called from the button and the flop spread 7 8 9. Both players checked. At the turn of 7, Nguyen checked again, but Billgren opted to use his turn to send out a 4200 bet. Nguyen check-called. On the river of 10, Billgren did the same, this time laying out an 8400 bet which Nguyen once again check-called. Nguyen revealed his A J for a straight but Billgren had a flush with his K J.


Pham ousts Mariakis

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Tien Pham is fighting his way to chip up against the big stacks. He opened the hand with a raise to 4000 and was called by both Michael Mariakis and Peter Nguyen. At the flop, A A 6, they all checked for a free turn look of 8. Action was checked to Pham who bet 4000 and got one caller in Mariakis. Then at the river of 9, action slowed and both players checked. Pham won with his K 9 against Mariakis 4{5c).

Several hands after, Michael Mariakis was all in and Pham called. Pham had K A while Mariakis had A 7. With the board running blanks, Mariakis was eliminated and Pham added more to his growing pile.


Marc Joseph looking to gain back his chips

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Having lost a bit of his stack to Kamran Siddiqui, Marc Joseph aimed to earn it back after the re-draw to a new table. In one the hands, Joseph along with two others, called a raise pre flop by William Tjokro to 4500. At the flop of 9 Q 8, action was checked to Tjokro who continued with a 12000 bet. Action returned back to Joseph who check-raised to make it 27000 to go. Tjokro called. Then on the river of   10, Joseph wasted no time shoving it in the midde. Tjokro opted to fold.


Kwok raise war wins some off Mariakis

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

Kwan Kit Kwok faced off against Michael Mariakis in a hand that began with Kwok raising to 5000 and getting called bu Mariakis on the big blind. At the flop of 4 6 5, Mariakis checked, Kwok bet 6500, Mariakis raised to 15000, and Kwok responded with a shove. Mariakis quickly folded.


Huang ends Heinenan’s day at the Main Event

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 300

In just two quick hands, Pasi Heinenan’s run ended at the hands of Bryan Huang. After losing the previous hand to Choin Young Su, Heinenan was all in with J-J but it was no good against Huang’s A-A. The board bricked and just like that, Heinenan was sent to the rail.


Su catches a straight against Heinenan

Choin Young Su from Korea caught a lucky break when his Q 10 burned Pasi Heinenan’s set. After an all in pre flop, the board ran 9 4 6 giving Heinenan a set with his 6 6. But then things quickly flipped when the turn landed a K and then a J on the river giving Su a backdoor straight. Su is now up to 75000.
