Set man Billgren doubles up through Razavi

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Erik Billgren, the man known to land sets, has done that again. Action began with Samad Razavi raising double to 20,000 and getting called by Billgren on the cutoff and Koh on the big blind. At the flop of 8 A K, Koh checked, Razavi bet 21,000, and Billgren moved all in with his 103,000 chips. Koh quickly folded but Razavi tanked then eventually called.

Razavi: A 10 top pair

Billgren: 8 8 set

With the turn of 4 and river of Q, Billgren doubled up and now sits with almost 280,000 chips while Razavi fell to below 100K.


Huang doubles up Kwok

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Bryan Huang called Kwan Kit Kwok’s shove of 190,000 and both went to a showdown.

Huang: A K

Kwok: A Q

With the board running 4 J 4 9 7, Kwok connects with nut flush and doubles up. Kwok now back to just over 400,000. Huang down to around 200,000.


Zhang lands a big double up!

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Sunny Zhang is currently the chip leader after bagging a huge double up against Kwan Kit Kwok. Action began with everyone folding to the button, Norbert Koh who raised to 22,000. Acting next was Kwok who three-bet to 50,000. Then Zhang on the big blind, seeming to defend his blinds again, moved all in for a total of 272,000. Koh folded but Kwok tanked for some time. He eventually called and it was a showdown.

With the board running K K Q K 6, Zhang celebrated his win and was shipped a massive pot. Zhang now has over 570,000 chips.


Kwok wins a couple of pots

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000=8000 Ante: 1000

Kwan Kit Kwok has just claimed a couple of good pots In a hand against Bryan Huang, Huang raised to 17,000 pre flop and Kwok called to see a flop land J J A. Both players checked and the turn of 6 was tabled. Huang checked, Kwok bet 25,000, and Huang gave up his hand.

Two hands later, Kwok raised to 18,000 and found a caller in Sunny Zhang. At the flop of 10 8 5, Kwok continued and laid out 25,000. Again, Zhang smooth-called. At the turn of 7, Kwok bet 55,000, and again Zhang quietly smooth-called. Then on the river of 7, both players checked. Kwok won the hand with his K 8 two pair.


Zhang defends his big blind

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Sunny Zhang was not going to let anyone take his big blind. With everyone folding to the button player Norbert Koh, Koh raised to 16,000, was called by Kwan Kit Kwok on the small blind, but not Zhang who three-bet to make it 5o,000. Koh and Kwok folded.


Takafuji wins another small pot

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Hideki Takafuji took down another pot after moving all in on top of Kwan Kit Kwok’s raise to 17,000 pre flop. Kwok quickly folded and Takafuji took another without a fight.


Jereld Sam eliminated by Huang – (9th place – $3,500)

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

The first casualty of the final table has been dealt and the unfortunate beneficiary was Jereld Sam. During the hand, action began with David Steicke moving all in with 105,000. Sam followed suit with his 250,000 chips, sending Bryan Huang deep into the think tank. Huang asked for chip counts of the leaders at the table and after assessing the possible damage, he moved all in as well.

With the board running K 3 5 8 7, Steicke landed a triple up to around 320,000, Huang rose to 326,000, and Sam was eliminated in 9th place.

Jereld Sam earns $3,500 for his final table finish at the Main Event.


Billgren takes one away from Zhang

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

The hand began with Sunny Zhang raising to 17,000 and was called by Erik Billgren on the big blind. At the flop of 2 A Q, Billgren checked to Zhang who continued with a 22,000 bet. Billgren flat-called and they both saw a turn land 2. Billgren changed gears and led out for 27,000. Zhang tanked then folded.
