Nehmee Alegado takes a chunk from Bobby Zhang

Preflop raise war kicked off with a raise by Nehmee Alegado from the hijack seat, called by Jae Hyun Lim on the button, three-bet to 22k by small blind Bobby Zhang, four-bet to 72k by Alegado, Lim folded, and Zhang flat-called.

At the flop 7 J Q, Zhang checked, Alegado c-bet 50k, Zhang called. On the Q turn, Zhang switched up and led for 65k, Alegado called. On the 7 river, both checked it and Zhang’s A K was way behind Alegado’s A A.

Alegado charged to 580k, Zhang dropped to 365k. Average stack is 189K.


Lim Yo Hwan leads with 640k

Lim Yo Hwan is our current chip leader with 640k. He amassed a part of that stack in two hands against Han Wool Jang that eventually sent Jang out.


Marvin Rettenmaier eliminates Alexis Lim

Level: 12 Blinds: 1500-2500 Ante: 2500

An APT champion has been booted off the running, Marvin Rettenmaier eliminated Alexis Lim. Action kicked off with Rettenmaier raising to 5500, Tamon Nakamura called, Lim jammed, Rettenmaier called, and Nakamura opted to fold.

The board fell Q 9 8 8 9 to counterfeit Lim’s hole cards and Rettenmaier landing a much better two pair. Rettenmaier sits with around 130k.


Lim Yo Hwan tanks Han Wool Jang

Level: 12 Blinds: 1500-2500 Ante: 2500

Both Lim Yo Hwan and Han Wool Jang engaged in a raise war preflop that ended with Jang calling Yo Hwan’s four-bet. At the flop A 9 Q, Yo Hwan led for 26.5k and was called. On the 8 turn, no bets landed. On the 10 river, Yo Hwan slid out a tower of yellow worth 100k. After tanking, Jang folded. Yo Hwan climbed to 335k.


Aces show up again; Karlsson Magnus doubles up

Immediately after Romeo Catayas knocked out two players, aces showed up again , this time at the hands of utg Karlsson Magnus. Preflop action saw a raised pot and a flop 10 K 4. Bb Hung Sheng Lin faced a shove by Magnus. He tanked then called.

The turn J awarded Hung Sheng his flush, but with the river 9, Magnus retook the lead with the nut flush. He double up his short stack.

Osmar Moraes tells the tale

During the break, satellite winner Osmar Moraes, and the only player here hailing from Latin America, came up to the media to let us know he has climbed to over 350k. He shipped in all of a player’s stack with his K-K unbeaten by A-K.


Iori Yogo sends Hanayama Takeo packing

Level: 11 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 2000

APT Philippines defending champion Iori Yogo shipped in a nice pile of chips while sending Hanayama Takeo out in the process. On a flop of 2 Q 5 and a hefty pot pre-brewed, action was checked to Yogo who bet 11k. Takeo moved all in, Ji Young folded, and instant call by Yogo.
