Day 3 entering chip leader Marc Rivera ran up a strong stack throughout the day but in the final few tables, others gained momentum while he seemed to be on a standstill. He tabled his final hand of the Main Event falling to Jung Seung Mook.

Lu Zhenghao gets lucky and cracks aces with quads

Level: 26 Blinds: 15K-30k Ante: 30K

Lu Zhenghao was at the verge of falling when he was all in with J J only to run into Kyung Kun Lee’s A A. However, the poker gods were shining on him sending a board of J 2 7 8 J for quads and a double up to 1.3M. Lee dropped to 770k.


Jung Seung Mook doubled up to 1.27M

Level: 26 Blinds: 15K-30k Ante: 30K

Jung Seung Mook continued his stack swinging. He doubled up through Maki Ikeda to go back up to 1.27M. The hand started with Mook raising to 65k, Ikeda called. On the flop Q 9 7, Ikeda checked, Mook bet 60k, Ikeda raised to 175k, Mook shoved around 530k, Ikeda called.

The turn 2 and river K kept Mook’s pair ahead to ship it. Ikeda down to 1.2M.


Edgar Kim up and out in 13th place – P306,600

Level: 26 Blinds: 15K-30k Ante: 30K

As quick as it came it was lost. For Edgar Kim at least. He won a pot against Craig Landry to bring him over a million but couldn’t hold on to it. He tangled against Kyung Kun Lee to send his stack down to 390k then lost it to Vamerdino Magsakay on the next hand.

Against Lee, the completed board was 7 8 3 5 3, Kim checked to Lee who bet sending the action back to Kim. Kim fired a check-raise. Lee tanked then eventually called with 8 6. His pair was good with Kim showing A J air. Ikeda rose to 1.8M.

The next hand Kim shoved with K J, Vamerdino Magsakay called with A J. Kim hit the flop Q K 5, but and stayed ahead on the Q turn, but the river 7 improved Magsakay to a flush to ship it and eliminate Kim.


Edgar Kim takes a chunk from Landry

Level: 26 Blinds: 15K-30k Ante: 30K

Craig Landry raised to 65k, Edgar Kim three-bet to 155k, Landry called. The flop 7 4 7 saw Landry check it, Kim c-bet 120k, Landry called. On the turn 3, Landry checked again, Kim banged out 275k, this time Landry opted to fold. Kim rose to 1.25M, Landry slipped down to 550k.


Sebastian Wong exits in 14th place – P306,600

First hand after the break, Sebastian Wong was all in for the third time in a row. He was called by Maki Ikeda. Wong A K, Ikeda A 3, the board favored Ikeda 4 8 9 7 3. Wong out in 14th place. Ikeda nearing 2M.

Sebastian Wong doubles up again

Sebastian Wong is not out of the woods yet but he has doubled up to bring his stack to 385k. This time it was Christopher Mateo paying up. Wong was all in with A 6 that held against Mateo’s 5 3.

Jung Seung Mook and Sebastian Wong bumped heads in two hands back-to-back. The first one Mook three-bet shoved with A J and Wong called with 10 10. The board favored Mook as it ran A 3 4 4 3. Mook doubled up to 1M, Wong crippled down to 90k.

The next hand, Wong was all in with Q 10, Mook called with 8 8, the board was Q 3 J 4 9 for a double up to Wong to 200k. Mook down to 900k.
