After 12 hours of competition, Day 3 closed with the final 8 players formed. Here are the finalists returning at 130pm to race for the APT Championship title.

Final 8 race to the title begins at 130pm on Tuesday, April 30. It will stream live on APT Twitch with a 30 minute delay. 


Maki Ikeda eliminated in 9th place – P529,800

Level: 28 Blinds: 25K-50K Ante: 50K

Maki Ikeda had the better hand at the shove with A K against Su Tian Hong with A 2 however when the board ran 2 J 8 4 8, Hong paired up and after the count, Ikeda was eliminated in 9th place.

With that, Day 3 is a wrap with the Final 8 players established!


Kyung Kun Lee eliminated in 10th place – P441,500

Level: 28 Blinds: 25K-50K Ante: 50K

Kyung Kun Lee will not be joining at tomorrow’s final race to the title. He was just eliminated by Jung Seung Mook in 10th place. Both players were all in preflop. Mook J J, Lee 10 10, the board bricked. Mook back up to 1.85M.

We are down to the 9 players. One more bust out before we wrap up Day 3.

Aces cracked! Christopher Mateo zooms to 3.5M

Christopher Mateo has risen to an enormous 3.5M after avoiding the rail by cracking Jung Seung Mook’s aces. The hand began with an 80k raise by Mateo, Lu Zhenghao called, Mook three-bet to 300k, Mateo four-bet o840k, Zhenghao folded, Mook called.

The flop 8 Q J both checked. On the turn 2 Mateo was all in, called by Mook. Mateo J Q two pair, Mook A A overpair, the river 7 completed the board for a huge double up to Mateo. Mook dropped to 550k.


Marvin Rettenmaier shaves some off Magsakay

Utg Vamerdino Magsakay raised to 90k, bb Marvin Rettenmaier called, the flop landed Q 6 4. Both checked to see a free turn 2. Rettenmaier checked,Magsakay fired 150k, called by Rettenmaier. On the river J, check again by Rettenmaier, Magsakay bet 310k, Rettenamier called. Magsakay opened J J set but lost to Rettenmaier’s 3 3 flush. Rettenmaier up to 1.7M, Magsakay dropped to 1.6M.


Jung Seung Mook grows to 2.35M

Utg Su Tian Hong raised to 100k, utg+1 Keichiro Sugimoto called, Christopher Mateo three-bet to 325k, Jung Seung Mook jammed, no takers. Mook scooped up the pot to grow to 2.35M.


Craig Landry settles for 11th place – P367,900

Level: 27 Blinds: 20K-40K Ante: 40K

Action saw Kyung Kun Lee shove, Craig Landry joined with less chips. Lee A 2, Landry Q J, the board ran K 5 9 10 Q for the nut flush to Lee. Landry bowed out in 11th place. Lee goes up to 1.35M.

We have now reached the unofficial final table with 10 remaining. They play down to the Final 8.


Christopher Mateo vs Maki Ikeda

Level: 27 Blinds: 20K-40K Ante: 40k

Cutoff Christopher Mateo raised to 95k, Maki Ikeda called from the button. At the flop 10 6 5, Mateo c-bet 115k, Ikeda called. On the turn 3, Mateo sent out 225k, and Ikeda stuck with him. The river 6, Mateo shoved his 740k stack, Ikeda opted to give up his stake and folded. Mateo showed 9 K bluff and collected the chips. He is up to 1.7M. Ikeda down to 700k.
