Huy Pham called Mark Leano’s all in shove and here is how it went:
Leano: A♥ 10♥
Pham: 7♣ 7♦
Board: 7♥ 4♣ 6♠ 3♣ K♣
Leano was eliminated.
We just got our first casualty of the day with Junichi Nakagiri shoving over the top of Mike Fawaz’s raise. Fawaz made the call and at the showdown, Nakagiri was ahead with A♦ K♥ versus Fawaz’s A♠ J♥. The board however shined on Fawaz when it ran K♦ Q♦ 10♦ 9♠ 3♣ giving Fawaz the straight thus eliminating Nakagiri.
Jim Bonanno started the hand by raising it up to 13000 from utg and was called by both Noda Hiroyuki in late position and Jie Jie Liang on the button. At the flop of 9♦ J♠ 10♣, action was checked to Liang who bet out 17000. After tanking, Bonanno called and Hiroyuki folded. At the turn of K♣, it got quite hairy with Bonanno all in and Liang following suit. Bonanno had A-K top pair but was no good against Liang’s Q♠ 9♠ straight. With the river of 9♣, Liang doubled up to around 150K.
Annie Bordallo of Guam opened to around 11,500 preflop and saw Korean S.J. Kim re-pop to 25,000.
Bordallo called to bring the flop 9♠ A♣ 10♠
The flop apparently was both very well liked by both players as we saw them move all-in after the turn 10♥
This is the reason why:
Kim: A♦ A♠
Bordallo: 10♦ 9♦
River didn’t provide the one-outer and Bordallo’s stack gets cut down a bit while Kim doubles up.
Vietnamese Huy Pham opened the preflop betting to 10,500 and got a call from Michael Marvanek of Australia.
On the flop 3♣ 9♥ J♥ Pham led out with 12,000 only to see Marvanek up it to 27,000. Pham three-bet and then Marvanek four-bet all-in for his final 130,000 or so.
Pham called.
Marvanek had pocket nines and was ahead of the Vietnamese who had pocket threes.
Turn J♠ and river 5♣ did not change anything pushing the Australian’s stack to nearly 300,000.
Mike Fawaz and Huy Pham faced a river board of 3♦ 6♥ Q♠ 5♦ A♣ to which Pham bet 30000. Fawaz answered with an all in move and after tanking, Pham folded giving up the massive pile of chips in the middle of the table.
Shortly after losing a hand to Jaeib Cho, Zi Yang Zhao got into hand against Gregory Lane. It started with Lane min raising to 8000 and Zhao called. At the flop of 9♥ 2♦ 5♥, Lane bet 10000 and Zhao replied with a raise to 20000 which Lane eventually check-called. At the turn of 7♦, Lane checked, Zhao bet 25500 and Lane surrendered the pot.
In a min raised pot preflop, Jaieb Cho and Zi Yan Zhao watched a flop land 8♠ A♦ K♦. Cho checked then called Zhao’s 12000 bet. At the turn of 2♦, Cho checked again, Zhao banged out 27000 and Cho replied with an all in that got Zhao to quickly fold.
One of the two ladies left in the the field, Jin Young Choi was facing a re-raise of 23,000 from Vincent Torres after her 9,000 raise preflop.
JY Choi tanked for a bit but eventually made the call.
Flop: K♣ 5♦ 4♥
Having the shorter stack, JY Choi decided there was no other way to play it but jam it all in.
Torres thought for a bit and folded his hand.
