After waiting for a premium hand, Kwangsuk Yuh went all in with 33k and initial raiser Julius Malzanini called. At the showdown, Yuh had A♠ K♣ and was ahead of Malzanini’s A♦ Q♠. With the board landing 4♠ 8♠ J♦ K♦ 10♦, Malzanini overtook Yuh with a straight and eliminated him in 9th place. Yuh earned P198,000 for his Main Event run.
Terry Gonzaga went all in with his crippled stack of 36k and was called by both Seung Soo Jeon and Thong Botho. Gonzaga had pocket twos. With the board running 8♠ 4♠ 10♦ Q♦ Q♥, his ducks held up and he doubled up.
Jim Bonanno was on the brink of elimination earlier but has regained some lost chips and is back in fighting form. In this hand, action began with Gonzaga raising to 18k, was called by Seung Soo Jeon, then an all in by Bonanno totaling 76k. Looking to isolate, Gonzaga shoved as well for a total of 125k back to Jeon. He folded and it was heads up between Bonanno and Gonzaga
Bonanno had A♣ Q♦ and Gonzaga had A♦ K♣. The board ran 8♦ Q♠ 5♥ 10♥ A♥ giving Bonanno a pair with his kicker card and he doubled up and more while Gonzaga fell to below 50k.
Action has slowed again with hands barely reaching a turn board. In this hand, they did go all the way to the river. It started with Tetsuya Tsuchikawa raising to 17k preflop and getting called by both Dong Hyun Kim and Julius Malzanini. At the flop of 10♦ 9♣ J♣, everyone checked. At the turn of Q♥, action checked to Tsuchikawa who bet 19k. Kim called while Malzanini folded. On the river of Q♠ J♦, both checked and Kim won the hand with his Q♠ J♦ two pairs.
Jim Bonanno was glad for a board of 4♦ Q♣ 7♠ J♠ 4♥ with his Q♠ J♦ landing two pairs against Thong Botho’s A♥ 3♦. Bonanno doubled up.
Seung Soo Jeon and Jim Bonanno had their chips all in with Jeon holding A♣ K♦ and Bonanno with Q♣ Q♥. The board gave them some fireworks as it ran A♦ K♥ K♠ Q♦ 2♣ giving both a full house. Jeon’s hand dominated Bonanno’s and he was shipped a big double up. Jeon now has over 350k chips. Bonanno goes below 40k.
Earlier, Thong Botho landed a big double up against Julius Malzanini, who happened to be one of the chip leaders at the time. In this hand, he attacked the stack of the other chip leader, Seung Soo Jeon, and has taken over the chip leader’s status.
During the hand, Botho raised to 13k and was called by both Terry Gonzaga and Jeon. At the flop of 10♥ Q♣ 6♥, Gonzaga and Jeon checked to Botho who bet 21k. Gonzaga folded and Jeon called. At the turn of K♥, Jeon checked again, Botho bet 57k, and Jeon called. On the river of 10♦, Jeon checked once more, Botho bet 77k, and Jeon replied with a raise to 146k. Botho moved all in for an additional 42k for Jeon to call. This sent Jeon tanking until he eventually folded while showing a king.
Botho now at 685k
Shortly after doubling up Thong Botho, Malzanini lost more chips in a couple of hands. From the big blind Malzanini called Byeongcheol Kim’s raise of 12k. At the flop of 2♠ 8♥ J♠, Malzanini checked to Kim who bet 24k. Malzanini called. On the turn of 6♦, Malzanini checked again, Kim bet 48k, and this time Malzanini folded.
Two hands after, Malzanini raised to 14k, Terry Gonzaga on the big blind moved all in, and Malzanini asked for a count. Gonzaga had 129k and Malzanini folded.
