Catching the hand on the river, the board was A♥ K♥ 9♦ K♠ J♠, and Rebei Karim bet 13,575. Simba called and Karim revealed his A♦ K♦ full house. Simba mucked. Karim now at 75k.
Aaron Mermelstein was all in preflop with 4k left and Gerald Casey made the call. Mermelstein had A♠ Q♦ and Casey had 7♣ 8♣. The board ran 9♥ A♥ Q♣ 8♠ 5♥ giving Mermelstein the win and a much needed double up.
Yao Hui and Mikal Blomlie had a bit of a raise war preflop which led to an all in by Blomlie and called by Hui. At the showdown, Hui had pocket queens and Blomlie had pocket sevens. The board gave Hui a full house and Blomlie was eliminated.
JC Sayo bet 1850 on a board of 3♣ A♥ K♣ 9♦ but was raised to 21k by a new face at the table, Rebei Karim. This sent Sayo tanking for some time while Karim continued to chat him up. The TD was called to the table because Karim apparently had showed his hand to a spectator which can be considered as an act that is against the rules of table etiquette. Time was eventually called on Sayo who was unable to make the call. Karim showed his A♣ and won the pot.
In a battle of the blinds situation, Jun Javalera raised on the sb seat, was re-raised by the big blind, Javalera pushed, and it was a showdown. Javalera had 2♥ 2♣ against K♦ Q♠. The board ran 9♦ A♠ 4♣ J♣ A♦ and with that, Javalera doubled up to around 36k.
Yoichi Fujiya saw his stack spiral down after doubling up Michael Falcon. Not long after, he was all in against Menchu Esdaile Razavi but they ended up splitting the pot. Needing to land a double up, he was in a pot with the board showing 2♣ 6♣ 2♠. He pushed all in and was up against a player with 9♣ 7♣. The board turned a K♦ giving Fujiya the higher pair, then with the river of 5♦, he was awarded a double up and now has over 9k chips.
Yao Hui earned himself a hefty pot in a hand against Lito Quijano. The hand began with Hui raising to 900, seeing one caller across the table, then a three-bet to 2800 from Quijano’s corner. Hui thought for a bit then called while the other player folded. At the flop of 6♣ Q♦ 5♠, both players checked. At the turn of K♠, Quijano checked to Hui who bet 3200. Quijano called. On the river of 10♠, Quijano checked again, giving Hui the go-ahead to bet. Hui did and slid out 6k. Quijano called and Hui revealed his Q♣ Q♥ set.
Iori Yogo just landed himself a sweet double up courtesy of Marc Rivera. Catching the action on a turn board of 9♥ Q♠ 10♣ 3♦, Yogo bet 5k into a 7k pot and Rivera announced he was all in. Yogo called fir his 21,200 chips and it was a showdown. Yogo had K♦ J♦ for a straight and Rivera had Q♣ Q♦ for a set. The river of 8♠ was no help to Rivera and Yogo doubled up to over 50k while Rivera fell to around 17k.
With a pot of nearly 13k in the middle and a board of 7♠ 4♦ 3♠ 7♦, Mike Artis and Yoichi Uesugi checked to Gerard Bringley who bet 4k. Next in the hand was Lester Edoc who folded, then back to Artis and Uesugi who both called. On the river of K♠, Artis and Uesugi checked again, Bringley bet 5500, and claimed the pot without getting called.
