On an unraised pot preflop, the small blind player Terry Gonzaga and big blind player Seung Soo Jeon stared down a board of 2 4 7. Both players checked. At the turn of 5, some action ensued with Gonzaga betting 15k, Jeon raaising to 45k, and Gonzaga flat-calling. On the river of 7, Gonzaga checked to Jeon who banged out 60k and Gonzaga snap-called. Jeon showed 6 8 for a straight and Gonzaga mucked. Gonzaga down to 70k.


Botho wins two with no callers

Thong Botho took the blinds and antes back-to-back after raising to 23k both times and getting no callers.


Jim Bonanno ends in 8th – P231,000

Jim Bonanno was the first casualty of the final 8 and he went down quite unhappy. Action began with Byeongcheol Kim raising to 23k. When it reached Bonanno, he shoved with an additional 127k for Kim to call. Kim did and it was a showdown.

The board ran 5 4 6 2 J, giving Kim a straight and Bonanno was eliminated in 8th place. Bonanno earned P231,000 for his main event run.


Action between big guns Malzanini and Jeon

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Two of the previous APT Main Event titleholders went head-to-head in this hand with Julius Malzanini raising to 24k, Seung Soo Jeon calling, and Bonanno joining in as well on the big blind. At the flop of K 7 5, Bonanno checked, Malzanini bet 38k, Jeon called, and Bonanno folded. The turn of K had Malzanini checking to Jeon who laid out a 57k bet. Malzanini folded and Jeon won the pot.


Battle of the Blinds, Botho vs Tsuchikawa

After action folded all the way to the small blind, Thong Botho limped and Tetsuya Tsuchikawa checked his option on the big blind. At the fl0p of 9 9 8, Botho led out for 13k and took the pot with Tsuchikawa folding.


No callers gives Gonzaga a good pot

Jeon kindly shared his 10 4 two pairs.
