With 10 players remaining, the players merged down to one table. Immediately into it, John Sayo was all in with 62k and Julius Malzanini called. Sayo had A♥ Q♥ and Malzanini was behind with A♠ 10♣. Byeongcheol Kim and Terry Gonzaga faced off twice that eventually led to a big double up for Kim. On the first encounter, Kim raised to 12k, Gonzaga re-raised to 33k, and Kim called. At the flop of A♣ 2♦ 4♣, Gonzaga led out for 35k and took the pot with Kim folding.
A couple of hands after, Kim raised to 12k, Gonzaga re-raised to 33k again, and this time, Kim shoved. Gonzaga called and it was Kim’s A♦ 10♠ against Gonzaga’s J♦ J♥. The board ran A♠ 10♦ 5♥ K♣ 3♠, and Kim rejoiced at his double up. He climbs to 340k.
Gonzaga goes down to around 133k.
After a short break, the 12 remaining players were short-handed with six players at each table. Action was slow with small pots being collected. Tetsuya picked up a pot of 34k. Seung Soo Jeon won a 33k pot. Bonanno picked up the blinds and antes of 15k after an uncalled raise.
Terry Gonzaga called Thong Botho’s all in of 72k and it was a showdown. Botho had A♦ 7♣ and Gonzaga had Q♦ 6♦. The board ran 5♣ 5♦ 6♠ giving Gonzaga the lead. The turn of 8♣ still had Gonzaga ahead, but with a 4♥ on the river, Botho landed a straight and happily doubled up.
Jun Saito was the next player to bust out of the main event. He was all in with A♠ J♣ and was called by Dong Hyun Kim with 10♠ 10♥. The board bricked and Kim’s hand stayed ahead. Saito leaves in 13th place and P136,000 in pay.
