Day 2 has wrapped up and 20 players remain in the field. We are two places short of the money. Here are the current leaders:
Seung Soo Jeon 269.5k
Julius Malzanini 264k
Tetsuya Tsuchikawa 241k
Jim Bonanno 233k
Dong Hyun Kim 222.5k
Another short stack finds a late double up, this time it was Nick Blackburn. With a flop of 2♦ Q♣ 3♣, Kwangsuk Yuh and Lester Edoc checked to Blackburn who bet 23k. He was called by both players. At the turn of 3♥, Yuh checked, Edoc bet 35k, and Blackburn went all in for less, 22.5k. Yuh folded and their cards were flipped open. Blackburn had 3♦ 3♠ and Edoc had Q♦ 6♦. The river of A♠ sealed the double up for Blackburn with his winning set.
With the last three hands announced, BJ Perez went all in with 23k and Seung Soo Jeon called. Perez had A♦ 10♥ and Jeon had J♥ 5♥. The board ran 4♦ K♣ A♥ Q♥ 7♣ and Perez doubled up.
With heavy preflop betting, the flop was dealt, 9♠ 10♣ 10♦. Terry Gonzaga checked to Jim Bonanno who bet 40k. Gonzaga responded with an all in and Bonanno quickly called. Gonzaga had 8♣ 8♠ and Bonanno had Q♣ Q♠. The turn of K♥ and river of K♣ sealed the win for Bonanno and he climbed to over 200k chips.
Sam Razavi went all in with over 50k on top of Dong Hyun Kim’s raise of 6500. Kim called and it was a coin toss with Razavi holding ace-king against Kim’s pocket eights. The board bricked and Kim eliminated Razavi.
After Gerard Bringley’s loss to John Sayo, he looked for a spot to get all his chips in the middle and did so with Q♠ 10♠ and was up against Terry Gonzaga with K♥ J♦. Not only did the board run low but it also gave Gonzaga a flush of diamonds. Bringley was eliminated.
Action preflop began with John Sayo raising to 6500, re-raised to 15.5k by Lester Edoc, then a four-bet by Thong Botho all in. He won the pot without any further challenge as Sayo and Edoc folded.
With a raised pot before them and a flop of 9♦ 6♥ 5♠ on the felt, Dementev checked to Sam Razavi who bet 12.5k. Dementev answered back with a shove to 38k and Razavi called. Dementev was ahead with A♦ 9♠ against Razavi’s A♣ J♣. The turn of 9♣ and river of 9♥ further improved Dementev and he doubled up.
On a turn board of A♣ 4♥ 6♦ 4♦, it was an all in fest with John Sayo covered in chips by Gerard Bringley. Sayo had 7♣ 4♣ and Bringley had 4♠ 5♠. With both holding trips, the low river of 2♠ was not what Bringley wanted to see as it allowed for Sayo’s kicker to play. Sayo doubled up and climbed to over 140k.
