Big-stacked Jacob Dy got himself tangled in a pot against Lim Yah Loon that led to them betting all the way to the river. With a board of A♠ 2♦ 9♥ 9♠ K♥, Dy bet 4k and Loon shoved his 15,175 chips. This sent Dy tanking for a long time until the clock was called. He folded and Loon took the pot while showing one card 5♥.
Jacob Dy re-entered and began the next level with a fresh stack. He immediately doubled it up and more when his pocket aces won against pocket kings and ace-king. He climbed to 46k.
Michael Kim Falcon was eliminated from the field once again. He was all in on the first hand after the break with pocket queens and was called by Simba with pocket kings. The board did not improve Falcon’s hand and he was out of the Main Event again.
We are on the second 10-minute break of the day. Late registration is still open for another two hours. No major big stacks at the felt. There are 53 entries recorded so far.
Other notables in the field: Julius Malzanini, Kwan Kit Kwok, Sam Razavi, Aaron Mermelstein, and Mikal Blomlie
It was an all in showdown preflop with Olivier Duran holding A♦ K♦ against John Kim’s 8♥ 8♦. The board ran Q♣ K♣ J♦ 9♣ K♠ giving Duran the win and Kim his second trip to the rail.
On a board of 7♣ 9♠ 6♥, action was checked to the cutoff player who moved all in with his remaining 4k short stack. Paulsen went all in as well to isolate the player. The all in player had 7♥ 6♣ for two pairs but Paulsen had 7♦ 9♦ for higher two pairs. With the turn of Q♥ and river of 5♣, Paulsen claimed the pot and eliminated one in the process.
On a board of 2♠ 2♣[3s}, Jacob Dy put all his chips in the middle, roughly under 5k, and Seung Soo Jeon called. Jeon turned over 10♠ 10♥ and Dy had A♠[qc}. The turn of 10♣ gave Jeon the sure win with a full house and Dy was eliminated.
Several hands after losing a pot to Sungchang Park, Michael Falcon was in a hand against Andrei Dementev with a board of 5♣ 9♣ 3♠ 4♠ in the middle. Dementev bet 1k, Falcon pushed with his 7k stack, and Dementev called. Dementev had 4♦ 4♥ for a set against Falcon’s A♦ 8♦. With the river of 7♦, Falcon was eliminated.
Falcon has since re-entered and he is back at the same seat.
On a board of 6♣ 3♣[10c}, utg player checked to Michael Falcon who bet 3500. Next up was Dementev who raised to 7500, then the utg player shoved. Falcon folded and Dementev called. At the showdown, utg had 6♥ 6♦ for a dominating set against Dementev’s A♣ A♦. The turn of A♠ changed all that with Dementev now in the dominating lead. The river of K♣ sealed Dementev’s win and he booted one in disbelief.
