Double ups are rare at the final table, especially not for players with fairly big stacks. A moment ago, Justin Chan earned one off Kahle Burns. We caught the action on the river betting and a board of K♠ 7♠ J♠ 4♥ J♣. There was around 75k already brewed prior. Big blind spot Burns bet 12k, Chan raised to 67k, Burns three-bet all in putting the way covered man Chan in the tank for a couple of minutes. With still 333k behind, Chan found the guts to call and put his tournament life at risk. As soon as he did, Burns said “you win” while turning over 7♣ 8♦. Chan did have the better hand with A♣ J♦ trips.
Chan now at 740k and Burns at 700k.
