Short stacks Michael Song and Masato Yokosawa faced off twice with one of them now out of the running. The first hand Song raised 4100 then called the all in of Yokosawa. Song had A♣ 9♦ and Yokosawa had Q♦ Q♣. The board bricked and Yokosawa doubled up to around 35k.
Next hand, between them it flipped with Song all in. Song had J-10 and Yokosawa called with 7-7. The board ran Q-A-6-6-A for a higher two pair to Yokosawa.
Yoichi Uesugi moved all in with A♠ 8♥, King On Cheng called on the big blind with 8♦ 7♠. The board ran 10♥ 8♠ 4♠ 5♦ 7♣. Cheng improved to two pair to oust Uesugi.
Michael Tran railed Paphawin Laodee with A-K on a board 6-2-4-A-10. We didn’t catch Laodee’s hand.
One of India’s top pros, Aditya Agarwal, called to his demise against Tso Wei. Upon a raised pot brewed preflop, the flop was A♠ 5♠ 2♣. Small blind Agarwal checked, late position Wei bet 5200, and Agarwal called. On the 8♦ turn, action was the same with Agarwal calling a 19.5k bet. Then on the 7♦ river, Agarwal was put to the test once again. He checked, Wei announced all in well covering Agarwal’s stack. Agarwal eventually called for his tournament life then mucked when he saw Wei’s A♣ Q♦.
Wei now up to 225k.
In the opening round, Tian Hao was the happy benefactor of all of Leow Seng Yee’s chips. He was then moved to table 2 and added more to his stack. Action kicked off with Cheng Tianyu raising to 5k, called by Yu Zhe, then three-bet by Hao. Hao won the pot with everyone folding.
Short stacked Zijian Li was all in with 16.8k and Sai Ho Philip Chiu called. Li had Q♠ Q♥ and Chiu with J♠ J♥. The board ran clean for a good double up.
Alan King Lun Lau was one of the day’s late entries and quickly boosted up his stack to sit well above average stack. He lost some of it though in a couple of hands. The first one he raised to 3300 then folded to Yu Zhe’s three-bet to 12k.
The next one was a much heavier loss. With a big pot of 52k brewed and a complete board K♥ 6♣ 10♦ 3♣ 3♠, cutoff player Gabriel Carter shoved with his 69k remaining chips sending Lau tanking for some time. Lau could afford it then opted to finally make the call. Carter had K♣ 10♠ two pair which was higher than Lau’s K♠ 8♠ two pair.
Too bad we only caught the moment as Iori Yogo packed up and Jin Qiang Shi shipping it. The board was Q♣ 10♣ 6♥ A♣ 7♥ and Jin with K♣ 4♣ flush. Jin now up to 370k. By the looks of it, he is the current chip leader with 50 remaining.
Renjun Yang seemed to be in agony in this hand. It started with Iori Yogo raising to 5k, Yang called, then Justin Pak Kwan Chan shoved. Back to Yogo, he folded while Yang squirmed in his seat. It took some time for him to act then finally folded showing his offsuit A♣ K♥. Chan won the pot and returned the gesture showing suite A♠ K♠.
Preflop raise war went down between Huidong Gu and Kazuhiko Yotshusika. Yotsushika raised to 11.3K from the button seat, Gu three-bet to 31.8k on the big blind, and Yotsushika opted to fold after a minute. Gu allowed him to see one card. Yotsushika opened up Gu’s Q♠.
