Tran Wins Big One

Level: 13 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Linh Tran from Canada is starting to put in some serious work.

Craig Sloan, who was Day 1A’s chip-leader, led out with a min-raise which was met by the small blind, Linh Tran.

Both players checked the flop 8 6 A but on the turn 8 Tran opened with 5,300. Sloan called.

The river 7 arrived and Tran bet 9,000 only to see a re-raise of 29,000 from Sloan… Tran called, showed 8 8 and Sloan mucked his hand.

Tran has now over 90,000 while Sloan drops to around 120,000.

Beijjani the Bully

Level: 12 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

With nearly 200K in chips to work with to start Day 2, Jihad Beijjani knows he can use his aggressiveness and press his opponents being the chip lead.

A player from the hi-jack opened preflop to 4,500 and Beijjani from the cut-off re-popped him to roughly 16,000…

Enough to force the fold from the player, who didn’t want to indulge with this early with the chip leader.

Kato Wins Blinds Battle, Doubles Up

Level: 12 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

The flop 2 Q 9 already boarded, short-stacked Takuya Kato decided that top pair J Q was good enough to risk his tournament life from the small blind.

He shoved around 11,000 and found a call from the other blind, who held mid-pair with A 9.

An apparent good shove for Kato who survived after turn 3 and river 10 and the Japanese doubles to around 23,000.

Goel has now around 40,000 in chips

Canada’s Mike Gledhill worked with 33,800 to start the day but he has a near double-up after eliminating a player with a shorter stack.

Gledhill chips up to around 58,000.

Flop 3 6 3 was checked by Anh and Koh led out with 11,500.

Anh called to bring the turn {6h], which was checked by both players.
