Aussie Bathan Rising and Rising

Level: 17 Blinds: 2000-4000 Ante: 500

With a very healthy pot already brewing in the middle, the dealer boarded the flop 3 6 6 prompting the a player from the hi-jack to bet 16,000. Australian Arnold Bathan made the call.

The hi-jack player bet another 15,000 on the turn 4 and again, Bathan called.

The table was turned on the river Q as it was Bathan who led out with 15,000 which the hi-jack called.

Bathan shows 2 5 for the straight and the opponent mucked his hand. After this hand, Bathan has now over 400,000 in chips.

Looks like our chip leader entering Day 2 is struggling to hold on to his chips so far.

He’s now down to around 100,000 (started day with 197K) after his aces got cracked by Kim Enriquez who doubled up on a board of J J 7 2 6 while holding J 9.

Huang Beats Big Slick

Level: 17 Blinds: 2000-4000 Ante: 500

Played like a true pro.

Bryan opened to 7,000 preflop but the small blind was waiting for him and shoved his stack worth roughly 25,000.

After the big blind got out of the way, Huang, who covered the SB player, made the call.

Huang: Q 8
Small Blind Player: A K

Flop 7 10 8 was good enough for Huang. And the turn 2 and river 9 even provided him with the unnecessary flush.

Huang climbs to around 80,000 in chips.

Saito Can’t Shake Off Dam

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Jun Saito led out with 9,000 preflop and Edward Dam from the big blind made.

Dam check-called the original raiser’s bet of 18,000 on the flop K K 4. Dam again check-called a Saito bet of 34,000 on the turn 6. And on the river 7 Dam led out with 20,000— curiously, enough to force Saito out of the hand…

Dam reached roughly 160,000 after this hand.

Back-to-Back D’Up for Jeremias

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

What time to get the bullets and the big slick.

With just 6,000 behind, Joel Jeremias woke up with A A and shoved. One player who merely had 3 4 called, much to the delight of Jeremias.

Flop 3 2 9 gave Jeremias’ opponent the pair but the turn 5 and river 10 did not provide the bad beat. Jeremias doubled up to around 18,000 at this point.

In the next hand, Jeremias woke up again with a great hand: A K. And for the second straight time he found a caller when he shoved.

Similar to the first double-up, he was ahead and was only up against 7 6.

The flop A J 3 brought a sigh of relief for Jeremias and the next two 8 2 confirmed his second consecutive double-up.

He now has around 40,000– wayyy better than his under 10K stack about 10 minutes hands ago.

Escano’s Post-Flop Prowess

Level: 16 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

A series of raise and re-raises upped the pot in the middle to around 25,000.

When the flop K 6 Q arrived, the player from the small blind bet 18,000 only to see Alan Escano move all of his chips worth over 130,000.

SB player can’t handle the heat and got out of the way. Escano has now over 170,000 in chips.
